No, it’s not FREE, you inveterate liars. They just transferred the cost from those who get the ostensible benefit (whether there’s any actual benefit to attending university in most cases these days is another question) to those who didn’t. So basically, the NM government just decided to force people who paid their tuition or didn’t attend college to pay for teenagers to go party and/or be indoctrinated with Marxist propaganda for four years. Note also how there’s no requirement for any worthwhile or productive program of study, such as engineering or accounting (which also happen to be quite difficult, unlike gender studies or racial grievance grifting). There might actually be an argument for providing taxpayer-funded university to that minority of students. There is no legitimate argument for this cynical vote-buying scheme. Bang-up job, assholes!
