@DrAlanGreene I can add very little to the tributes Alan and so many others have paid Conor in the last few hours. Brilliance and passion never blinded him to the humanity of thise he dealt with, including students, colleagues and opponents in argument. For me, that was his special grace.

Great to be back in @ucddublin this evening for my graduation - I've so many amazing memories associated with @UCDLawSchool @UCDcrim. While the ceremony was gorgeous, weather beautiful and company delightful - getting photobombed by a swan was my favourite part 😂🦢

@ciaranahern @SuperValuIRL That’s exactly the kind of distinction the courts in California have settled on: you have a limited right to canvass in areas where the owner invites customers to congregate and linger but not elsewhere (eg a shopping centre carpark or any kind of residential development.)

@odowdt @SuperValuIRL That’s interesting, thanks John. I wonder if there’s any difference for semi public / community spaces where the owners actively encourage members of the public onto their property?

🛑We we’re prevented from canvassing outside @SuperValuIRL #Knocklyon today Told to stop immediately & we needed property owner’s permission to be there 😳 But we canvassed there many times before 🤷🏻‍♂️ Worrying anti-democratic behaviour Anyone else experienced this?

So we need to ensure political parties can access semi-private properties where citizens congregate, like shopping centres Will be following up on this unacceptable behaviour with @SuperValuIRL and Bannon Property.

@ColinYeo1 A complication: s 6A(2)(c)(i) refers to a parent “entitled to reside in Northern Ireland without any restriction on his or her period of residence”. Should that be determined by the answer UK immigration law itself would give or by Irish law’s characterisation of its effects?

@ColinYeo1 Irish parliamentary counsel basically copied that particular feature of the UK Act when drafting the equivalent provision here: #SEC6A" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">revisedacts.lawreform.ie/eli/1956/act/2… However, I'd be surprised if the Department of Justice or the Irish courts construed it meaning what Roehrig finds it does.
