Guarding the skies in the High North ❄️🛡️ During Exercise Cold Response in 🇳🇴, the Norwegian NASAMS III air defence system demonstrates how NATO Allies protect forces and territory from aerial threats. As part of NATO’s enhanced vigilance activity Arctic Sentry, systems like NASAMS can track and engage multiple threats while sharing information across a network of sensors and launchers. A substantive and good meeting with Prime Minister of Norway @jonasgahrstore. Norway is providing us with significant energy support – in many ways, it is thanks to our cooperation with Norway that we have been able to get through this winter and the previous ones, each of which Russia tries to turn into a weapon against our people, against life in Ukraine in general. Today we spoke about continuing our joint work – and we will work toward a strategic partnership; in fact, we have already reached this level. Thank you that Norway is ready to continue helping us with energy – and not only helping, but also working more on joint ideas and joint projects. Today we discussed some of these energy prospects – and this is what will strengthen us. The energy ministers of our states will speak later today, and a corresponding agreement on energy cooperation will follow. Norway is one of the strongest defenders of life. Thank you for this to every Norwegian, and personally to Jonas.

🇪🇺🤝🇳🇴 Partners, neighbours and friends. For over three decades, the European Economic Area Agreement has served as the bedrock of our close cooperation. As discussed with PM @jonasgahrstore, Norway is a key partner for European and international stability. Our commitment to further deepening our relationship is steadfast.

Great to see EU and Norway’s cooperation in action during my visits to the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), the CBRNE Centre and Oslo University Hospital. From cutting-edge research and innovation in the defence industry to cooperation on preparedness and resilience, our enduring partnership is a win-win for both the EU and Norway, built on shared expertise, trust, and common strategic interests.

Strong European cooperation is essential to fulfilling NATO’s burden-sharing commitments, where Europe is assuming a greater share of responsibility for its own security.

Russia is the greatest threat to Norwegian and allied security.
