Why is there a recommended rate in the first place? If the only thing that matters is the choice made by driver & passenger? It’s because that sets a baseline to begin negotiations. It communicates to the passenger that this is a fair amount for this trip. The driver can respond with a different amount, but if it’s too far from the recommended rate, the passenger will believe it’s too much. The recommended rate has been steadily decreasing for years, I believe it’s reached a stage where it makes the model unsustainable. Basic economics, and also because EVERY InDrive driver I speak to says the same thing. InDrive’s algorithms need to be adjusted upwards to make the recommended rate more reasonable from the driver’s perspective,

How much longer can the current InDrive model last? It can’t cost $5 to go from town to the airport, surely.

I have said it before & I will say it again. The guys doing InDrive in Zim are going to kill it for themselves if they keep this crappy work culture yemushika shika mindset. Notice how they counter every ride offer with more money? It will be a sad thing for them.

This pseudoscience thrives on the uncertainty of groundwater siting. If the bottle drops because there’s groundwater beneath that exact point, why wouldn’t it keep dropping a foot away, and the next foot, until the guy is out of the aquifer? If this method worked, the bottle wouldn’t just drop at one magical spot; it would drop continuously across the same groundwater zone.

But kuno hakuna izvozvo. Yango zvatove zve Zambia. If my app has calculated distance etc and charges the amount, an offer has been created, then when a driver wants he will accept, if I accept him then it’s a contract. If it makes no sense I decline. Here it doesn’t increase as you drive.

The app calculates how much it is per distance. If it says $10 for example and you counter with $15 then who’s losing in the end when clients just leave it? Plus these things have always been this way since InDrive started so munhu paanototanga kupinda they should know how to work with that.
