I see @cynimhurchu has called on Bertie Ahern to apologise for comments. Why? Because you don't like his views? He's entitled to them, as she's entitled to hers. When people's views don't align it used to be called a disagreement. Egos are now so large that sorry is demanded.

@RobCarryBray @nealerichmond It is our money , who does he think he is? Is all his travelling ( at our expense) gone to his head , I get the impression he thinks he is above us all and a very important person.

Well, at least you can console yourself with the fact that Fine Gael's @nealerichmond will give away €840 million of your money to other countries this year. That's twice what we spent on fuel allowance last year. It's roughly equivalent to its entire budget for SNAs country wide. To my mind, that money belongs to the Irish people - to our kids, our sick, our elderly, our homeless. Giving it away to other countries should be considered economic treason.

Not only is this shocking, it’s also totally unacceptable. Last Friday, a Wicklow man went to St. Vincent’s A&E after a suspected mini-stroke. He was seen, then sent home and told not to worry over the weekend, just come back on Monday. He did exactly that. Yesterday morning he returned as instructed, and then he waited. Hour after hour. By midnight, he was still there, trapped in an A&E that was completely overwhelmed. No beds. Not even a trolley. Just a chair, and then put in a shower room. Alongside four other men and a woman, all patients, all left waiting because there was nowhere else to put them. This is not care. This is not dignity. It is totally unacceptable. And it is happening now, under Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil.

Government TDs have told communities it's an emergency & temporary measure. Meanwhile, the Government is preparing legislation to permanently exempt certain IPAS centres from planning. I asked the Taoiseach directly today - he refused to answer.
