Israel has begun feeding desalinated seawater into the Sea of Galilee, marking the first known effort by any nation to pump treated seawater into a natural freshwater lake. The system, launched on October 23, channels desalinated water through the Tsalmon Stream and the Ein Ravid spring, reviving sections that had been dry for years. Officials say the project is intended to stabilise the Kinneret after repeated droughts and falling water levels. Engineers estimate the new flow can raise the lake by several centimetres each month. Israel, already a major desalination producer, views the initiative as a long term safeguard for one of its most important water sources.

what's important here is that effect passes "the squint test". if you squint--patterns make sense. for instance, `Effect.gen(function*() {` can be replaced to `async function() {` in your head. `yield*` maps to `await`.
