Reminder: when my friends on the flotilla were kidnapped last October, the Israelis threatened trans participants with rape. They incarcerated a trans woman with the men, isolated her from her comrades, and locked her up alone with a male Israeli prisoner.

@ninakenzie365 There are several stories of violence, sexual assault, abuse and torture, much of it occurring towards the visibly racialized participants that never got published or didn’t get much visibility.

@ninakenzie365 These were testimonies given to me by two of the openly trans participants of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition x Thousand Madleens mission as I was a personal support person back in Canada for 3 of the Canadian delegates. I don’t think their interviews ended up being published.

It’s always about the fantasy of having the power in their own hands, the fetish of retributive violence and never the reality that these systems already exist and it’s never the people who “deserve” it getting the short end of the stick.

Prison is already the rape penalty, incarceration is systemic raping. Palestinians hostages are being raped, children are being raped/impregnated in ICE camps, trans women are trafficked by COs to other prisoners to punish the women and encourage “good behaviour”
