Meaning it's a blockchain built using a Substrate Network 🖥️ A Substrate-based blockchain node, like the Mandala Chain, is built on two key components: the Core Client & the Runtime. Let's take a look 👇 👉 Core Client The core client is the engine behind your blockchain node, handling everything outside the runtime. It is essential for enabling the blockchain’s network communication. Core Client is taking care of all the behind-the-scenes action, including: 1️⃣ Storage 2️⃣ Peer-to-Peer Networking 3️⃣ Consensus 4️⃣ Remote Procedure Call (RPC) API 5️⃣ Telemetry 6️⃣ Execution Environment These services are configurable, meaning developers can replace or extend them based on their unique requirements. Substrate provides default implementations, but if you need to tweak something to fit your unique use case, you’re free to do so. 👉 Runtime While the core client deals with the network layer and node services, the runtime is where the real magic happens. It encapsulates all the business logic of the blockchain and is responsible for executing the state transition functions. Some of the things that the runtime do: • Validates incoming transactions, ensuring only legitimate transactions are processed. • Handles changes to the blockchain state by executing state transition logic, storing the results, and updating the chain. • Controls how transactions are included in blocks and how blocks are communicated to other nodes.
