@GooglePlay I'm specifically getting notifications from Play Store to try random games and things like that. Games I haven't installed yet, so notifications as ads for my account. Which is usually for important information. Now I just have to clear them regularly to remove the counter...

@offerdaling Hi there. If you're seeing inappropriate or excessive pop-ups and ads in your games, please report this to the developer as these aren't managed by Google Play. Find the app in Play Store & share your feedback as a review and rating for their game app: goo.gle/360gizQ.

Dear @GooglePlay, I'm pretty happy with my android phone but I'm getting tired of clearing notifications for random stuff when I'm just trying to update my apps. Put ads somewhere else please.

@tontheneko Isn't the Musk vs OpenAI situation pretty similar to the Jobs vs Apple situation? I.e. nothing illegal happened when Jobs was made to leave Apple, even if he was one of the founders. It might have been ugly and a bad call, but not illegal.

Sam Altman changed his bio for the first time in history to a memeable thing. He's likely to win the lawsuit. ChatGPT mogging Grok, OpenAI mogging xAI hardcore. Another once in a lifetime narrative.

@Dovydas44444 I'm guessing the tech required would be valuable enough just for Earth use regardless of if a Mars colony is successful or not

@Dovydas44444 Man, I don't really like insane goals for the sake of insane goals. But I'm guessing betting on it will be free money until it collapses. I.e. a new hype-wave similar to AI on the stock market.

As part of SpaceX IPO preparations, Elon Musk has set an ambitious KPI to settle 1 million people on Mars by 2050, in return for a massive performance bonus. Musk will be 79 years old in 2050 - are there also expectations that he would still be running the company then?

Elon Musk was completely swindled. He funded OpenAI as a noble non-profit to protect humanity, but Sam Altman hijacked it. They secretly turned it into a greedy profit machine for Microsoft. This is an absolute betrayal of trust. Musk is fighting to save AI. He must win.

@D162Michele No, just that they can't fire everyone until we figure out what humans are needed for post-AI. E.g. stability over maximum profits during the transition period.

Is this what they mean by forced labour in China? Forcing humans to do AI’s job?

@shouq_al90149 We (parents) believe in this because X Y Z. Not this is true because the Bible says so. Let the kids learn to think and come to their own conclusions. Get comfortable saying "Good question, I don't know, what do you think?" if that's actually the case.

@shouq_al90149 Indoctrination in the parents own beliefs no. To learn more about humanity, sure. In Sweden we learn about human society and all major religions from a pretty early age. About both science and faith. I was assisting in a 4th grade role play about stories from the Bible last week.

@haider1 Yeah, I realized recently that what we like about AI is fast approximation of truth, because it's usually good enough and more fun compared to slow actual truth.

Sam Altman says a line from Ilya Sutskever that stuck with me: "prediction is very close to intelligence" If a system can compress the world into a smaller representation and predict what comes next, it starts to understand the data in a deep way That's the bet behind generative models

Sam Altman admits he wants to build a world where OpenAI transitions into an “infrastructure provider,” a “mega-scale token factory.” In this model, it decides what information people see, how decisions are made, and which businesses are allowed to succeed or fail. Altman says intelligence will become a utility like electricity or water, with people forced to buy it from them on a metered basis. "I think that could be quite powerful."

@om_patel5 I mean, quantum computing will probably be released in a similar way. Security release to update current encryption before a wider public release so that everyone doesn't get immediately hacked.

ANTHROPIC SAYS MYTHOS IS TOO DANGEROUS TO RELEASE. MEANWHILE GPT-5.5 IS HEAD TO HEAD WITH IT the benchmark chart tells the whole story "the last ones" is a cybersecurity benchmark that tests how far an AI model can get when trying to hack into a network from scratch. the steps go from basic scanning all the way up to full network takeover GPT-5.5 and mythos preview are neck and neck at the top. both completing 22+ steps out of 32. both capable of web app exploitation, privilege escalation, and reverse engineering attack infrastructure openai shipped GPT-5.5 publicly. anyone can use it right now anthropic locked mythos to 40 organizations and said "the world isn't ready" (translation: we have 0 GPU capacity to spare, but saying that it's too dangerous sounds better) the rest of the leaderboard: > claude opus 4.6 sitting at 14 steps > GPT-5.4 at 14 steps > claude opus 4.7 at 11 steps > claude opus 4.5 at 10 steps > GPT-4o at the bottom barely completing initial reconnaissance the jump from opus 4.7 to mythos is massive. it went from 11 steps to 22+ steps. that's not an incremental improvement. that's a completely different class of model another guy says his wife's cousin works at nvidia's cybersecurity department with access to mythos and says "it's just like GPT 5.4 going to GPT 5.5. he still has to hand hold it. it's not some insane model that would wipe out the world" so either anthropic genuinely has a model too dangerous for public use or they don't have enough compute to serve it and the "safety" narrative is just better marketing
