THE BATON OF LEADERSHIP PASSES AT NUPENG
A historic moment. A beautiful transition.
Today, April 30, 2026, at the National Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Comrade (Prince) Williams Akporeha formally handed over the reins of leadership to Comrade (Dr.) Salimon Akanni Oladiti, the newly elected Executive President of NUPENG.
In a brief yet profoundly symbolic ceremony, the outgoing President passed the baton—not just of office, but of legacy, service, and the collective resolve of every oil and gas worker in Nigeria.
Comrade Akporeha’s tenure gave us NUPENG Towers, expanded health insurance, and an uncompromising defence of union membership. Today, he exits with dignity, handing over a stronger, more resilient union.
Comrade (Dr.) Oladiti receives a union ready to march further—and he has pledged not to drop the baton.
The outgoing and incoming leaders at the National Secretariat, capturing a moment of unity and democratic continuity.
