Ibadan is not just managed, Oyo State is been guided towards the metropolitan stride that we should be as a state.
Ibadan 5 years ago is not the Ibadan we have today, it's visible to the blind , even people in diaspora affirm with us.
The only thing we desire is that it can be better and that's why the fellow who would come after Makinde is important, we do not need people who will take this state back to the era of godfatherism where the Commonwealth of the state is been used for self aggrandizement.
We would witness a better Oyo State if we allow our Goals be the benchmark and not our emotions.
Ibadan is growing daily and I'm proud to be part of those adding value to its growth.

Ṣeyi Makinde has shown Ọyọ people what government is meant to be over the course of his 7 years as governor.
Imperfect and flawed but also effective, responsive and visionary with zero oppressive tendency.

All in all, Oba Sharafadeen Alli has a very calm demeanor with zero scandal to his name despite being in active politics for decades.
I think that’s one of the reasons he is a go to alternative for the unpopular Oyo APC.

I will not be drawn into the APC vs PDP online fight. My focus is simple. Two states, Ogun State and Oyo State, led by Dapo Abiodun and Seyi Makinde since 2019.
One faced heavy criticism from day one but stayed focused, and you can point to visible projects consistently. The other enjoyed strong online praise, yet the tangible outcomes don’t match the noise.
With about a year left in their terms, the contrast is clear, almost night and day.
You can continue singing overbloated praises here. Posterity will judge us all.

one popular politician that stepped out of the limelight and still shocked me till date was Dimeji Bankole, former speaker House of Representatives.
i don’t really know much about why he decided to step out of politics, so I won’t really say much as regards his personal profile
as at then, he wasn’t just full of dreams. He was a vision for the youth, was the speaker at around 37 years old. He made ‘the not too young to rule’ a possibility and then, after one or two fallouts in PDP. He excused himself out of the political scenes.

Namadi Sambo served as Nigeria’s Vice President for five full years. Not acting. Not interim. Five uninterrupted years at the highest level. And today, many Nigerians wouldn’t recognize his face outside a newspaper archive. Before Abuja, he was Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 to 2010 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His background was engineering and architecture, and most of his political value sat in infrastructure and administrative delivery. In 2010, after the death of Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, the political balance of the country shifted overnight. Goodluck Jonathan needed a Northern Vice President to stabilize the ticket. Sambo fit the political math… Northern, low-friction, institutionally reliable. That calculation put him in office from 2010 to 2015. His most consequential footprint sat inside Nigeria’s electricity reform era… when government-owned power assets were transferred into private hands. He chaired the National Council on Privatization, supervising the handover of generation and distribution companies to private operators. Whether Nigerians believe the reform worked or failed is still debated, but structurally, it remains one of the largest economic restructurings Nigeria has attempted. After 2015, when the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated the PDP and Muhammadu Buhari assumed office, Sambo stepped out of everyday visibility. Not scandal. Not exile. Just silence.
