so apparently V-CLIPs Variable Soft Knee set to hardclip (top) and actual Hardclip (bottom) modes have some BIG differences, it also does not pass the Null test so theres a clear difference in phase and transients 🤔 they should both theoretically be hardclipping equally

Yo, lil’ rizzler, listen up, thus! Your big boomy kick goes *BOOM* at -2dB, super loud, thus, but the spectrum analyzer’s acting unwise, thus. It splits sound into tiny Ohio buckets, thus. Small buckets (8192), thus, make your *BOOM* spill, so it looks like -6dB, kinda mid, thus. Bigger buckets (16384), thus, make it worse, spilling more, showing -12dB, no rizz, thus! It’s ‘cause the kick’s vibe doesn’t fit the bucket perfectly, thus, losing juice. Don’t trust the analyzer too much, thus, or your mix’ll be in Ohio, thus. Skibidi toilet out, thus! 🚽 grok.com

Just to clarify. the kicks' sub frequency peaks at -2dB. Spectrum analyzers at 8192fft will show -6dB, while spectrum analyzers at 16384 shows -12dB peak 😬😬😬😬

Frequency amplitude in the actual waveform may not equal what is shown in a spectrum analyzer, just fyi 👀 This is likely due to frequencies not hitting the center of the fft bins, causing them to be represented across multiple bins, losing peak volume.
