WELL WELL, today I beat SAROS from start to finish in one sitting then I booted up RETURNAL and played the whole game from start to finish. Here is what I think each game got better based on beating both back to back: - Gameplay: SAROS - Weapon Variety: Tied - Graphics: SAROS - Satisfaction of playing: RETURNAL - Sound design: SAROS - Dualsense usage: RETURNAL - Story: RETURNAL - Bosses: SAROS - Environment: SAROS - Modes: RETURNAL (has co op and dlc) - Save system: SAROS - Destruction to environment: RETURNAL - Progression: SAROS - Enemy Variety: Tied - Replayability: RETURNAL because of more modes - Interaction: SAROS - Accessibility: SAROS Overall both amazing games, I think actually you should start out with saros then play Returnal if you have not played both! I think SAROS is a better game but I like Returnal more, kind of like botw and TOTK situation

The "significant backlash" that Saros is getting (we'll see if it's actually significant when we get sales numbers) is making me think. A lot of the anti-woke crowd doesn’t actually hate politics in games. They hate not being the default anymore. For years games catered almost entirely to guys, so a certain slice of players got used to every protagonist looking like them and every story orbiting their comfort zone. Now when a game shifts even a little away from that, they act like the medium has been taken over instead of just growing. What they want is sameness dressed up as purity. They want every game to feel like the ones they grew up with, so they never have to think about who else plays games. It is not about loving games as an art form. It is about wanting the industry to freeze in place, so they never lose their spot at the center. This doesn't go for EVERYONE that might align with that crowd though. There are some valid arguments to be made about shoving stupid shit into games just for representation, but I think most of these dudes are too dumb to think that deep.

@ZephyrionVortex @Stealth40k Switch 2 is a fully optimized port not a downscaled version so this is to be expected. Neither are optimal ways to play unless it's your only option

@Stealth40k The one with the mario icon is the switch 2 version and the other is from SeriesS. It's pulled from YouTube, but you can still see the Switch 2 looks noticeable clearer.
