His jaw tightens, shoulders squaring as he finally turns a little more toward Cole, though his eyes stay cool, distant. Just done. “Works well enough.” He replies calmly. Flat. Controlled. “At least it’s quiet.” His gaze flicks to the mug, then back up, unimpressed. (+)

"you'..." she vocalizes the sound, still not looking up to meet his eyes, before shrugging. "you're alive, i suppose? you have a cute horse, maybe? i'm sure there are a bunch of reasons. not that you would surprise me anyway."

"more like you can't be a bundle of positivity in general, right? i don't think i've ever seen you be a bundle of positivity, cole." looking down, suddenly not quite as confident about staring at him or even meeting his gaze.

He pauses just long enough at the door to glance back, expression flat, unreadable. “Morning.” He says, toneless, like it costs him nothing. Or like it means nothing. Alex isn’t taking the bait.

"don't you look like a ray of sunshine in the morning?" she is sitting at the counter, eyebrow raised as she looks over at him through the rim of her cup.




He rushed downstairs after him, his eyes catching Cole for a brief moment as he rolled them before focusing back on heading outside. ㅤIt was best to avoid him.
