@missypurcell1 @everyonereadste Yes and…evidence-based online programs, like @ogstarreading, can provide extra practice for striving readers who require multiple exposures to instruction to develop and retain foundational literacy skills.

Many states are mandating universal screeners! This is great for assessing kids, so that appropriate & individualized reading instruction can be provided. Computer programs can be great for reinforcement, but they should never replace a highly trained educator working to remediate struggling readers. #ScreentoIntervene #UntilEveryKidCanRead

Intervening successfully is not just about spending money on buying stuff. You can have lots of intervention programs but if they are not evidenced based and matched to the students’s needs the likelihood of the success will be as good as flipping a coin or maybe even less.
