A man falls from a hotel in central Phnom Penh this morning. Police respond, lock down the building, and discover a suspected scam operation running inside with foreign nationals. How does this keep happening? An entire fraud operation set up in a hotel near Aeon 2, apparently invisible to the building's owners and management until someone dies. We're months from Cambodia's self-imposed deadline to eliminate scam compounds, and they're still being found by accident in the capital.

This family just got an IKEA kitchen delivered to their new home. It’s 210 packages, and many people say the instructions are almost nonexistent, it’s just diagrams. He’s going to have to unbox every part and arrange it in a way that can be identified so that will help with the frustration, many people who bought this quit out of frustration and tried to return it. Whenever people order kitchen sets like this, should it at least come with better instructions or at least a video, have you ever tried to put something together and the instructions weren’t clear and you ended up messing it up?

Attackers exploited known vulnerabilities to install malware called AVrecon, turning compromised devices into residential proxies, essentially renting out access to your home network to criminals who use it to hide their identity online. The FBI estimates access to around 369,000 devices has been sold since 2020 across more than 160 countries. My Take The detail worth understanding here is what a residential proxy actually means for the people whose routers were compromised. Criminals pay for access to these devices specifically because traffic routed through a home router looks like a regular person browsing the internet rather than a server in a data center. Your router becomes cover for someone else's fraud, cyberattacks, or worse, and you have no idea it's happening because your internet still works fine. The FBI noted patches were already available for some of the vulnerabilities that were exploited. If your router is on this list, check the manufacturer's site for a firmware update. If it's old enough to no longer receive security patches, it's worth replacing reddgardless of whether it appears here specifically. Hedgie🤗
