Please make arrangements to bring your animals inside. Even with a dog house, animals are still in danger of freezing to death. Warming shelter locations that allow pets: 301 SW 23rd Street and 6710 N. Classen Blvd. You can surrender your animal at the shelter.

If your animals has to stay outside, provide adequate shelter with 3 sides, a waterproof roof, and insulation. Make sure the opening is facing away from wind. The best insulation is straw. In an emergency, a tipped over trash can with straw as bedding can be used as shelter.

Did you know all of the animals in the shelter can be viewed online? This includes both adoption and lost pets. This is a great way to shop for your next pet or look for a lost pet while still practicing social distancing. okc.gov/animalwelfare
