Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development
Enough talk!!!. Nigeria has more untapped mineral wealth than oil ever gave us. Gold. Lithium. Tin. Zinc. Coal. Iron Ore. Yet we still import what we can mine ourselves. The Federal Ministry of Mines & Steel is done with excuses. By 2027, we will: 👉Create 500,000 direct jobs in solid minerals 👉Stop billions in mineral imports 👉Make Nigeria a top-10 global steel producer again The era of “potential” is over. This is the era of production. Are you ready to join the revolution? #SolidMineralsNG #NigeriaRising #EndOilDependency"

Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Bola Ahmed Tinubu@officialABAT·
On this my 74th birthday, I celebrate the valiant men and women of our Armed Forces. Today, I have directed the Accountant-General of the Federation to establish a special account for a fund dedicated to those who serve, those wounded in the line of duty, and the families of those who have paid the ultimate price. As a personal commitment, all my salaries since assuming office will be paid into this account as seed funding, irrespective of existing insurance and welfare schemes for members of our armed forces. This fund will directly support those who have lost their limbs, and the widows, widowers, and children of those who laid down their lives in service to our dear country. I call on our Governors, members of the National Assembly, the private sector, my friends and all well-wishers to support this initiative. Details of the account will be made available in due course. We must never forget those who stand in harm’s way for our peace, nor the sacrifices borne by their families. This is not charity. It is duty. And we will fulfil it. I just saw this video of a young man from the North struggling to show off his three-camera iPhone during an interview. At first, I thought it was a skit, until I dug deeply. Unfortunately, a majority of Nigerian youths share this same vain mentality!✍️

This fellow lives in Canada, a country I've been to multiple times. In Canada, is it the Canadian central government that provides electricity? No. Electricity in Canada is provided by the private sector and the states (provinces). In Western nations that have solved their power challenges, it is the private sector and provincial governments (states and local governments) that have led the process. This is exactly what President Tinubu wants to replicate in Nigeria. Already, power generation in Nigeria is privatised. The Federal Government does not generate power. Almost all power in Nigeria is generated by either the private sector or the states. For example, Olorunsogo Power Plant and Omotosho I Power Plant have been privatised and are now owned by Dr Adedeji Adeleke, Davido's father. Other power plants, like Geregu, are also privately owned. Until late last year, it was owned by Femi Otedola. The Nigerian Federal Government, like other central governments, such as those of the United Kingdom and the United States, does not have the capacity to run successful power-generating companies because it is not the business of government to be in business. That is why, since the Nigerian power sector was privatised on November 1, 2013, the Ministry of Power's budget has significantly decreased. The role of government is to regulate the sector. And that is being done through the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission. It is only the Transmission Grid that is publicly owned, and even that is scheduled for privatisation. But even at that, the grid can only transmit what is generated. The main challenge of power generation in Nigeria is that many Nigerians expect power without paying electricity bills, which has seriously dampened investor confidence in the sector. Privately owned power-generating companies are owed trillions by consumers. Please fact-check me. And they even face power theft through illegal connections. Nigeria has one of the world's worst, if not the absolute worst, records of electricity bill collection. It may surprise you to note that a huge number of persons in prisons in Nigeria are there for beating up electricity bill collectors, bypassing meters, and assaulting technicians sent to disconnect them after repeatedly refusing to pay their bills. In light of this, how can private funds spent by Seyi Tinubu on his personal initiative, the City Boy Movement, be blamed for the state of electricity in Nigeria? After all, the President has created the enabling environment for states to get involved in the power sector, and as Governor of Lagos, he pioneered Nigeria's first State Government-owned Independent Power Projects, having built: Alausa Independent Power Plant (10.4 Mw) Akute Independent Power Plant (12.55Mw) Lagos Island 1&2 Independent Power Plant (10Mw) Mainland Independent Power Plant (8.8Mw) Lekki Peninsula Integrated Power Project (6Mw) Island IPP located in Marina (10MW) All these and other projects were built by the Bola Tinubu Lagos State Government, in partnership with the private sector, although some were completed by his predecessors, and they have resulted in Lagos's economy being 12 times larger than it was in 1991, when it stopped being Nigeria's capital. I know it is easier to just criticise blindly and insult than to engage in criticism thinking, but please, when we want to be critical, we must understand the industry and sector we are criticising, and not just speak from the grandstand. 3 years ago, I saved up money to travel abroad. Visa approved, everything ready. My flight was in 2 weeks. I told my friends. Everyone was happy for me. At that time, I had about 7 close friends. Three of them were already living abroad. Since I was leaving soon, I decided to organize a farewell party for them and my girlfriend (now my ex). We lodged in a hotel, ate, drank and enjoyed ourselves all night. It was supposed to be a happy memory before my journey. But 4 days later, something strange started happening. I began to feel serious pain all over my body. At first I thought it was normal sickness. I bought medicine, but nothing worked. Each day the pain became worse. Soon it got to the point where I couldn’t even stand up from my bed. My people rushed me to the hospital. I spent 3 days there, but the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong. They transferred me to another hospital. Still nothing. After 2 more days, I was discharged. The doctors said they couldn’t trace any illness and advised my parents to look for another solution. My parents became very worried. They started taking me to different places, spending the money I had saved for my pocket expenses abroad. Finally, we went to a traditionalist. After checking me, he said something that shocked everyone. He said I had been poisoned. He also said if we had wasted two more days, I might not have survived. He started treatment immediately, but he said it would take 3 weeks for me to recover. Three weeks? My flight was already just days away. But my parents had no choice. They told him to continue. After about two weeks, I slowly started getting better. But by then, my flight was gone. The visa, the plans, the money… everything was lost. I had already sold most of my properties in Nigeria before preparing to travel. So I had to start my life all over again, even moving back to live with my mom. Till today, I’m still trying to find my feet again. One lesson I learned the hard way: Avoid bad friends.

Bola Tinubu is currently in the UK for a state visit, which was scheduled before the recent bombings in Maiduguri. The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and the UK, with discussions on trade, security, and migration management The Maiduguri bombings, which killed at least 23 people and injured 108, have been condemned by President Tinubu and the Nigerian government. The government has vowed to intensify security operations to prevent further attacks Regarding the possibility of international intervention, it's worth noting that President Tinubu has expressed commitment to addressing security challenges in Nigeria. The US and other international partners have been supporting Nigeria's efforts to combat terrorism and insecurity

The aspiring dictator of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, has fun in the U.K. while Nigeria burns, as we have seen in the recent bombings in Maiduguri. The drug lord in Asorock is an international disgrace. The U.S. has the full right to do a "Maduro" on the wannabe dictator in Asorock, should it decide to do so.
