George Chiga was recognized with the 2023 Master Breeder Award posthumously. Chiga established the George Chiga Professorship in Animal Science to encourage excellence in teaching and scholarship in beef cattle production and genetics.

Morgan Denzer and Anna Goldkamp, @okstateafs graduate students, both received the Outstanding Graduate Student (Ph.D.) Award at the 2023 Animal and Food Sciences Scholarship Banquet. Carlee Salisbury was the recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student (M.S.) Award.
