Excellent news! The Georgia Forestry Commission just updated the Highway 82 fire in Brantley County to 75% containment! The Pineland Road fire is now up to 44% containment.
The growth of these fires in southern Georgia has slowed tremendously in the past several days. Saturday's rain helped as well. There's another good chance of rain this Thursday in southern Georgia. That will continue to help fire-fighting efforts.
