One of my friend’s aunts and her husband moved to the UK in 2023. A few months later, she got pregnant and lost it 💔
A year later, she got pregnant again… and lost that one at 4 months.
They took a break. During that period, they were on post-study visas that were close to running out, so they were actively looking for a COS.
Then she got pregnant again… and this time, she had twins. It was a huge celebration. Everyone was so happy. I even visited them with my friend but sadly, the babies passed away at 4 months old 💔
She completely shut down after that, when we visited, I tried consoling her but words failed me. I was speechless.
That day, I went home so sad and had to speak to God like I was talking to Him face to face…
Like why?
He is unquestionable, yes but He saw their struggles, their pain, everything they had been through… yet He still allowed something like that to happen to them 😔
Long story short, they’re both back in Nigeria now with nothing.
The wife said she didn’t have the strength left in her to keep fighting as they couldn’t secure sponsorship to stay.
I truly hope life becomes kinder to them wherever they are.

@NnajiEsther17 @FinestDoveTruth Yes they can get a two-year visa, have good savings and you will do two backup letters one for each of them, and one from you, they will explain what they are coming to do and also the money in their account, you will then do an invitation letter

How the fuck are people on minimum wage in the UK meant to survive alone? The maths just doesn’t work. Take home pay for a 37.5 hour week (because nobody's paying breaks anymore) is around £1,700 after tax, national insurance and pension contributions, but rent alone somewhere cheap is around £800. Add £220 council tax, £350 utilities, and at least £70 a week on food, and you’re left with about £50 for the whole month and that's before transport or anything going wrong. Minimum wage doesn’t even cover basic living anymore.
