@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Bro, what I believe is that only a strict law like china or revolution can change the whole corruption of a thing in our country
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya These abnormalities are what we need to change, and that still relies on us as citizens cos you already know the govt won't do that
English

Your politicians will sell your resources out to Australians.
Australians will use it to develop their land. You'll now go to their embassy and beg for visa.
They'll give you.
You'll now leave all your family and friends in squalor and go to labour for their economy.
😭
Nigeria Stories@NigeriaStories
JUST IN: Chariot Resources Limited, an Australian firm, has announced the acquisition of six lithium mining licences, marking its entry into Nigeria’s 🇳🇬 lithium sector.
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Do they care if they are informed? As long as it’s not burning their house they don’t give a fuck and who wants to start the movement against them? Not me and not you
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya You are informed, you inform the next person that is not informed,on and on,we create a society of informed people, and we bridge the gap
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya People just don’t care as long as they are doing well. It’s just tiring
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Yeah right, please educate the ignorant ones around you, that's the only way we bridge the gap, people need to be aware
English

@Fissypie1 @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya We are trying to put in the right people, but the system keeps recycling the same corruption. Even those we believe can fix it often get absorbed or overwhelmed by it. At this point, it feels like everyone is focused on power and personal gain rather than real change.
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya lol you just said it yourself that strong laws and accountability can force the kind of country we desire. If that is what is required then the citizens themselves need to rise up and ensure they demand for that not keep wallowing in supposed defeat. Put in the right people.
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Yes, I’m a citizen, but I don’t support or vote for any of them because the system keeps producing the same kind of leaders. Many people feel like nothing really changes no matter who comes in.
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Whether you didn't vote them in,they are there cos you exist as a CITIZEN, without you as a citizen, there's no govt
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya people like you and me have tried to hold them accountable, but those with more support, evidence, and even public backing still end up failing, getting silenced, or joining them. So if even the strong voices are being defeated, what exactly is expected from ordinary citizens
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Of course I am that's why I am taking my time to respond to you and make you aware of the power you hold as citizens, before we start holding this pple in power accountable each and everyone of us as citizens needs to know the power we hold to begin with
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya These things are supposed to be public, but most citizens are not even informed or involved. How can people influence decisions when everything is controlled at the top and real accountability is weak?
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya These are supposed to be public information and not closed doors, all these are happening cos the citizens don't even care to know, you as a citizen can influence these decisions cos you put those people in there who make these decisions, you can also remove them if they perform bad
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Yeah that’s true and what I’m trying to let you know is that not all citizens are involved in this. Many tried to stop all these corruption but they didn’t have the full support to end it
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya All these happened because there's been a huge disconnect between the govt and citizens in Nigeria and the citizens let this happen cos they have never held the govt accountable from the start
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Citizen are suppose to have power against the government to remove them from power but there are some citizens that benefit from the government and they make the government have huge power than their citizens in Nigeria
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya All of these are going on because citizens have failed to know their rights and power they hold, this huge gap between government and citizens in Nigeria is because citizens have failed over the years to hold this set of pple accountable,so they do whatever they like
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Same question applies to you or are you not a citizen of Nigeria
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya You keep proving my point, now you know all these, what have you done as a citizen or the collectives of the majority towards that ?
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya They are not there because of me because i didn’t vote for none of them
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Every government position from the high to the lowest is there because of you as a CITIZEN,without you as a CITIZEN no one can get there,so you the CITIZENS are the government but unfortunately a large percentage of Nigerians don't know this that's why pple in govt are on rampage
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya like mining licenses behind closed doors. People vote and protest, but key decisions are still controlled by those in power, not ordinary citizens.
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Citizens are often told they are responsible, but many youths have already paid with their lives during protests like #EndSARS and #EndBadGovernance, with deaths, mass arrests, and even minors detained. Meanwhile, real power stays with political elites who approve major deals…
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya This government wasn’t chosen by most Nigerians, 2023 low turnout vote means only a small group decided it. So stop acting like everyone supports or is responsible for their decisions. Citizens didn’t approve these deals, so don’t blame the people for what leaders are doing
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Oh you are making the rules indirectly cos you vote in someone to represent you in making those rules, now if those rules been made are going against you it's because you failed to hold your representative accountable for making/agreeing to a rule that affects you
English

@DamilolaAquila @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya I get the concern about not fully belonging. But with dual citizenship (Nigeria allows it for us by birth, Australia recognises it), I can legally and practically call both countries mine. Roots in Naija, opportunities in Australia. Many are living that reality successfully.
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya You've done well.
Just that you may never have a country to call your own. Neither Australia nor Nigeria.
English

@MalcolmStetz @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya If citizens are the govt, why aren't we the ones making the rules as politicians?Mining Cadastre officials approve lithium licenses to firms like Chariot not average citizens. We vote & protest, but the heavy responsibility for resource deals lies with those who actually govern.
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Lol the citizens are part of government and have a role to play,if your leaders are on rampage and citizens sit down and let it go on,then the citizens should also be blamed
English

@noriegoh5450 @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya True, many people might do worse if given power without checks. we've seen it at all levels. But that's exactly why we need strict laws and ruthless enforcement like in China, where corruption can attract severe penalties even death for big cases.
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya The avg Nigerian complaining abt the government would do way worse, if given the chance
English

@Fissypie1 @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Yes Citizens vote for leaders hoping for change, but many only serve themselves. Corruption continues because those in power focus on personal gain instead of improving the country. Only strong laws and real accountability can force leaders to act right.
English

@olamidesaudex @SpacemanAp @ritaachanya Please let me understand your thought process… so as a citizen of a country you don’t know you have rights to the resources being squandered or what? Or are the citizens not the ones to elect the government personnel to act in their best interests. Help me understand.
English
