God says, “I will judge you every one after his ways.” The word “after” means the last thing that you have done. In other words, God looks at the last thing that you have done to determine whether to chasten you or to bless you. This point is proven in the previous verses. In verse 18, God talks about how if a righteous man turns from his righteousness to commit iniquity, he will die because of those last things that he has done. In verse 19, God says that if the wicked turns from his wickedness and does that which is right, he will live. In other words, God is watching you to see what you have done lately so that He can determine what His next action will be in your life. We are prone to think that because we did something in the past, God ought to continually bless us until the day we die—even though what we are doing right now is not right or is not doing anything for Him. God is very interested in what you have done lately. Just because you did something for God in the past does not mean that He owes you a debt for the rest of your life. Let me illustrate this point by using crops and the reaping of them. When a farmer plants seed and harvests his crops, he must continually plant seed and harvest crops every year if he wants to have a good harvest. Let’s say that a farmer plants seed and harvests his crop one year and then determines to live off that crop for the rest of his life. We all know that farmer would starve to death because the crop is only good for one season. The crop only produces enough to sustain you for so long. Eventually, you have to replant and harvest again if you want to continue enjoying its benefits. Likewise, God is no different than the principle of sowing and reaping that He has established throughout the Word of God. God expects you to continually plant the seed of righteous living and serving Him if you want to reap His blessings continuously. You cannot expect God to ignore the very principle He established. My friend, what have you done lately for God? Stop looking at what you used to do and look at what you have done for Him lately. It is what you do for God lately that will determine the results of His blessing and favor on your life. If your life has been filled with sin lately, then you can expect the death that sin brings. If your life has been filled with righteousness and serving God lately, then you can expect His blessing. God will determine what to do with you after your ways.

Meet Ty'Quavious, Ty'Quavion, Ty'Zavion, and Ty'Zarrious. I was driving to visit someone in my Sunday school class and I saw these four brothers playing football in the field. Pulled my car over and went and talked to them for a while about church and football. I was able to switch over to the Gospel. When I asked them if they knew they were going to Heaven, they did not know. After sharing the Gospel, they all 4 received Christ as their Saviour. Always remember that people get saved not doors. #divineappointments #Outreach #OldPaths

One of the illustrations that God used with Ezekiel was that his wife died in the evening. God told Ezekiel that his wife would die in the evening, and that the next day he was to get up and do as he was commanded. When Ezekiel went home that night after preaching to the rebellious house of Israel, his wife passed away. However, Ezekiel did in the morning as he was commanded. One little phrase in that verse really shows us how to fill our days with accomplishment. That phrase is: "and I did in the morning." Ezekiel started his day out doing, and it resulted in a day of accomplishment. Had Ezekiel not started his day out doing, he would have had a hard time making that day a day of accomplishment. One of the keys to being successful in life is to make the most of each day. The way to make the most of each day is to start your day accomplishing something. Too many wait until later in the morning to start doing, and then they wonder why they never accomplish anything. You will notice that Ezekiel said, “I did.” “I did” means something was accomplished. You cannot be a person of accomplishment if you do not do and finish what you start. If the only thing you do in the morning is make your bed, you have at least accomplished something that day. If the only thing you do in the morning is to read God's Word, then reading God's Word becomes an accomplishment. If the only thing you do is spend time in prayer in the morning, you have accomplished something—and that sets the mindset for the remainder of the day to accomplish more. Doing what you are supposed to do spiritually in the morning is the key to filling your day with accomplishment. This principle has nothing to do with being a morning or an evening person; it has everything to do with accomplishment. I challenge you to start your day doing. I challenge you to wake up earlier and get something accomplished so that your mindset for the day is accomplishing something. Most of the battles we fight are in our head, so if I start my day doing to the point that I can say, “I did,” then I will be able to fill each day with accomplishment. If I fill my days with accomplishment, then I will fill my life with accomplishment.

Being a friend is a choice. I’ve learned in life that there are many who call themselves friends, but there are few who are truly a friend. God says that a man that hath friends must show himself friendly. This is interesting because if you are going to have a friend, you must first show yourself to be a friend. Friendship is determined by my ability to show friendliness. Now, what is friendship? God answers that question in the second part of this verse when He says that a friend “sticketh closer than a brother.” How close does a brother stick? The book of Proverbs answers this in Proverbs 17:17: “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Friendship goes beyond adversity. Though a brother is there for you in adversity, a friend is there for you beyond the adversity in life. The brother shows up when adversity happens; the friend is still there as you live through it. Your friendliness toward people in good times does not prove your friendship. True friendship is revealed in adversity—the kind of adversity where everyone else walks away, yet you remain. Are you a true friend? Are you the one who, no matter what happens to a person, is still there to help them beyond the initial wave of adversity? It is expected for family to be there, but it is not expected for a friend to stay. Just because your friend may not be liked by the majority does not mean you stop being their friend. The truest friends in life are those who are not afraid to identify with you when the narrative is to destroy you. You will never know who your true friends are until you go through adversity—the kind where everyone turns on you. You will find in life that there are very few friends. Therefore, show yourself friendly to those who are your friends, and you will find that you have someone who will stick with you through adversity until you come out on the other side.

Ezekiel was the prophet of God's sign to Israel because of their sins. One of the signs that God gave through Ezekiel’s life was that He made him dumb so that he could not speak. God said that when he was not given a message from Him, he would not be able to speak, but when God gave him a message, He would open his mouth and allow him to speak that message. This reminds me of God's power to use individuals like you and me to speak His message to a lost world. Too many times, we put the emphasis on ourselves and our abilities to reach the lost, when our only job is to deliver the Gospel. It is not your eloquence that causes a person to get saved, but God's ability to speak through you that brings the message of salvation to the heart of the lost so they can understand that message. Too many people feel that they cannot be a soul winner because they do not have the ability to speak well. However, you must understand that when you begin to speak God's Word, God will take your words and speak to the heart of the individual to whom you are witnessing. I want to challenge every believer to stop putting the pressure on themselves to persuade people to be saved. We are to compel people, but it is God who speaks to the heart, and it is the Holy Spirit who brings conviction. The decision to be saved is up to the individual. If they choose not to be saved, it is not because of your delivery, but because they chose to reject Christ. Let us always remember that it is the power of the Gospel that softens the heart of the lost so they will receive Christ as their personal Saviour. All you need to do is open your mouth and speak to the best of your ability, and God will take your words and help the listener understand their need to be saved.

God’s command to the believer is to do all to the glory of God. Now, I wish that God had not said that we must do all to His glory, because that means that everything I do must be taken into account as to whether if what I am doing will bring Him glory. For instance, there are some things that are not wrong, but they do not bring God glory. People will often say that what they are doing is not bad, but that is not the measurement God commands us to use when determining whether we should do something. The measurement by which we ought to determine our actions is whether or not what we are doing will bring glory to God. Moreover, some things are good, but they still do not bring glory to God. There are things I can do in life that may be good in themselves, but they do not bring glory to God. Furthermore, there are some things that are neither good nor bad, yet they still do not bring glory to God. For instance, social media is filled with comments that are neither good nor bad. Some may agree with the comment, but that comment still does not bring glory to God. When it comes to social media, there are things I could post that may be true, but my posting of them does not bring glory to God; therefore, I should not post it. My friend, we must stop determining whether something is simply good or bad and go a step further by asking ourselves, “Does this bring glory to God?” Yes, we should ask if something is bad, because we certainly should not do what is wrong. Likewise, we should ask if what we are doing is good and right. However, we must always ask ourselves if the action we are about to take will bring glory to God. God commands us to do all things to His glory. When the measurement of our actions becomes whether they bring glory to God, that is when our actions become impactful for eternity. I would rather impact eternity by doing actions that bring glory to God than do actions that bring glory to myself to make me look good, smart, or better than someone else. Let’s return to the Scriptural measurement for determining our actions, and that measurement is this: Does it bring glory to God?
