On Trump’s claims about talks with Iran 🚨 sources tell me over the past two days the Trump administration via intermediaries reached out to the Iranians. Messages were exchanged via Egypt, Turkey and potentially Pakistan. The Iranian point of contact is Foreign Minister Araghchi, the request was to open talks with Iran’s Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf. Notable this was an American attempt to re-engage the Iranians not the other way around as claimed by President Trump.

The FT is reporting that Howard Lutnick was heckled at a dinner hosted by WEF co-chair, Larry Fink last night. A US source here in Davos says it’s “fake news” that “Al Gore was the only person to boo” and that Christine Lagarde did walk out but “may have had an event to go to”.
