@schwad_rb I think you just got a little confused about the ordering. `prepend` inserts the module first in the method lookup chain.
So `John#thing` is never called. Perhaps use `include` to insert afterwards?

I'm currently have availability for freelance full stack Ruby/Rails web development work.
Tech friends I would appreciate a RT for reach!
Here's me on GitHub: github.com/Najaf

@robhawkes Under The Stairs: underthestairs.org
Great food, good vibes.
English

@markthefisher I saw that! Kind of difficult to even wrap your head around, how one can even be that out of touch!
English

@robhawkes Yeah, I jumped on the M1 bandwagon with an M1. Loving it, great machine. Snappy, and totally quiet.
I’ve just ordered a MacBook Pro 14”, with the same 16GB because I didn’t feel like I needed more.
If you’re interested I might be able to do a deal on a second-hand Mac Mini?
English

@simonleggsays Yay! 🎉 Looks great. Try focaccia, not as good in a sandwich, but tasty AF.

I’m currently available for remote freelance work on Ruby/Rails teams, in a development/leadership/hybrid capacity.
Here’s me: github.com/Najaf
Developer friends, I’d appreciate a retweet for reach 🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️
English

@tomstuart Yeah. In the same vein as removal of auto-merge. Now a human just presses the button to merge the dependency, without checking if there’s some glaring security vulnerability, instead of the computer doing it for me. 🤷♂️
English

@ollylegg It definitely hasn’t solved anything in my case because every time it failed I just made a confused face and ran the workflow manually. Maybe I’ve already been pwned. Who’s even writing this tweet???
English

For months I’ve been confused about why GitHub Actions are broken for Dependabot PRs. TIL it’s because secrets were made silently unavailable for runs it triggers. So I have to push a button instead, which is no more secure but (crucially) less convenient. github.blog/changelog/2021…
English

@tomstuart Yeah. I guess at least then the workflow definition is “trusted”, but it is very annoying. I understand the concern about supply-chain attacks, but I’m not sure this is actually solving anything.
English

@ollylegg Right, but then your workflow has to explicitly check out the head ref of the PR, which is exactly what `pull_request_target` is designed to avoid? What an unnecessary palaver.
English

@mattsoutherden I once had a barber, stop cutting my hair, to scroll through Wish and show me all the great offers that I could have access to! An app I was blissfully unaware of until that moment in time.

It appears as if the suez boat has finally moved.... so time to get up
@[email protected]@simonleggsays
Me: “are you getting up?” @aggamut, lying in bed: “I’ll move when the suez boat moves”
English

@lukeredpath I don’t remember how, but if you anticipate more VAT refunds, it is possible to get it setup so they pay it into your bank account.
English

Oh, it was a VAT refund. My first in 12 years. Sent as a cheque. In 2021. How quaint. I don’t even know how to pay a cheque into @StarlingBank.
