This evening, my heart is filled with gratitude. For 56 long days, we prayed, hoped, and stood with the families of the Oriire victims. Today, we give thanks to God that our children and their teachers are finally back home. I can only imagine the pain the families endured and the courage these victims showed through such a difficult period. As we celebrate their safe return, let us also remember that true healing will take time. May God comfort them, restore their strength, and grant them peace. I sincerely appreciate everyone who played a role in making this possible; the security agencies, community leaders, religious leaders, and every Nigerian who refused to stop believing. Today, I visited Boode Market with a heavy heart. No one can stand before what happened here without feeling deep pain. Seeing the burnt shops, destroyed goods, and the hard work of so many families and individuals reduced to ashes is heartbreaking. Behind every shop is a livelihood. Behind every loss is a family whose hopes have been shaken. I came here to stand with you, to listen, and to share in your pain. At moments like this, words alone cannot replace what has been lost, but I want you to know that you are not alone. Your sorrow is our collective sorrow. I spoke with the Baba Oja and Iya Oja, I have listened to your concerns, and I believe the best way forward is to hear directly from you on what your most urgent needs are. I therefore encourage the market leadership and all affected traders to meet, deliberate together, and agree on what will bring the greatest relief to everyone. When you have done so, come back to me with your position. By the grace of God, I will carefully consider your request and do everything within my capacity to support you. I received with sadness the news of the fire incident at Boode Market in Ibadan this morning. My heart goes out to every trader and family affected by this unfortunate incident. I can only imagine the pain of seeing years of hard work and investment destroyed within a short time. I thank the firefighters and every individual who responded swiftly to contain the fire and prevent greater damage. At this difficult moment, I encourage our people to stand with those who have suffered losses. This is a time for compassion, and support. I pray that God grants everyone affected the strength to recover, restores all that has been lost, and protects every market, home and business across Oyo State from such incidents. Happy New Month, Oyo State. As we step into July, I pray this month brings peace to every home, strength to every family, and fresh opportunities to everyone working honestly for a better tomorrow. My thoughts and prayers remain with our brothers, sisters, and children still in captivity from the Oriire abduction. Happy Father’s Day to all fathers and father figures across Oyo State and Nigeria. Today, we celebrate the men who work hard every day to provide, protect, guide, and pray for their families. Fatherhood is not just about giving life; it is about sacrifice, responsibility, and being a source of strength when times are difficult. As we celebrate, our thoughts are also with the families of the victims of the recent abduction in Oriire. No parent should have to endure the pain and uncertainty of not knowing the whereabouts of their loved ones. We pray for the safe and speedy return of all those still in captivity and for comfort and strength for their families during this difficult period. Their struggle gave hope to generations and strengthened our belief that the voice of the people will always matter. As we mark this special day, I celebrate the resilience of our people. Despite the challenges we face, we continue to show strength, and an unwavering belief in a better tomorrow. These qualities give me confidence that our best days are still ahead of us. Today is also an opportunity to reflect on the kind of society we want to build together: one where every citizen is valued, every child can dream without limits, and every community can thrive in security, and prosperity. On monday, I paid an appreciative visit to the office of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oyo Federal Constituency, and I must say I was warmly received by my people. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was full of celebration and unity. I could feel the energy of commitment from party members, and it reminded me again that our strength is in our people. I spoke to them about the present situation in our state, especially the security challenges and the economic pressure many families are facing. I did not hold back in telling them the truth as it is, because leadership must be honest with its people. During the visit, I also led a short prayer for the safe rescue of the Oriire abductees. In moments like this, we must not lose our humanity or our faith. We must continue to stand together and pray for peace in our land. I also used the opportunity to remind all party members to remain committed and to declare full support for all our candidates across board. Most importantly, I called on everyone to stand firmly with our presidential candidate: former vice president - Atiku Abubakar, as we move together in this political journey. Before I left, I made substantial financial support available to strengthen the party structure across the 4 local governments making up the Oyo federal constituency. This is my own small way of encouraging unity and keeping the work of the party active at the grassroots. The task ahead is clear.
