Genuinely insane. We’re an island nation surrounded on all sides by allies? A future attack from who? Aquaman?

🚨 NEW: The UK will run its biggest ever war simulation next year to "be ready" for a future attack
English

@OfficialVizeh Well us Americans are getting ready for real football season
English

@OfficialVizeh The main game starts, banters, Chelsea playing trash again, Arsenal trying to prove a point, and lots more. The world cup is just a distraction till season opens.
English

@mw35821 @Jaspervanpelt @futstatstracker Yes not a foul, and with all these errors the rule should be amended for VAR analysis.
English

@Jaspervanpelt @futstatstracker So you would also be saying that Harry Kane’s challenge on Modric is not a foul because it’s the same thing?
English

Digne was about to clear a ball he controlled, lamine jumped in, all I'm saying is this rule should be revisited.
MC@CrewsMat10
Lamine saw Digne coming and deliberately jumped into the challenge. Fairs man, his footballing IQ is top man😭
English

@IceKnight14 @abenasports @FabrizioRomano I'm saying the rule should be amended because some cases needed the intervention of deep analysis.
English

@oma_larry @abenasports @FabrizioRomano Beg to differ. Last time I checked the laws, attempting to kick/clear the ball, completely missing the ball and kicking an opponent instead, in your own penalty area is a pretty nailed on foul in the box = penalty.
Digne being in motion is irrelevant.
English

@IceKnight14 @abenasports @FabrizioRomano Because it's the law doesn't mean its right, if the law can be amended by making sure VAR analyse cases like this. Digne controlled the ball with the head while facing another direction knowing his back is cleared wanted to shoot and lamine ran in
English

@oma_larry @abenasports @FabrizioRomano You hit an opponent. With intensity.
Fault!
End is discussion. No one cares if you saw it or not!
English

@mgazi_mc @abenasports @FabrizioRomano Yea I know, some contest should be analysed before awarding penalty. I'm just saying the rule should be revisited. At least some cases should be analysed by VAR.
English

@oma_larry @abenasports @FabrizioRomano There's nothing call my play in football, every ball is a contest
English

@Sucree_Papito @abenasports @FabrizioRomano Nope, just saying in some cases VAR should analyse. Football is a contact sport.
English

@X0moss1 @oye_skimmo @abenasports @FabrizioRomano VAR ought to, this rule should be visited and amended. VAR should analyse it in some cases
English

@msl101181 @abenasports @FabrizioRomano Laws can be amended, especially when there's a reasonable cause. Some day a player would be in motion trying to clear a ball, and a player comes out of his sight range and ends up causing harm to the defender or the clearance player, maybe then there'd see reason.
English
@abenasports @oma_larry @FabrizioRomano But that isn't in the law. That penalty was a textbook example of what's written in the law. You might not agree with the text, but that's an entirely different discussion.
English

@oma_larry @abenasports @FabrizioRomano So whose fault is it that Digne didn’t see Yamal until it was too late?
Ball hits Yamal’s sleeve & by FIFA definition, this is not handball
Digne misses the ball & kicks Yamal who it is established Digne didn’t see until it was too late.
Digne attempting a clearance is irrelevant
English

@saveland3 @abenasports @FabrizioRomano He was tryna clear a ball and was on a motion. If you played football you'd know. You are trying to clear a ball and an opponent runs in seeing your motion. There's going to be contact.
English

@ayoquxibe @oloydbabs @abenasports @FabrizioRomano Exactly, laws can be reviewed. This one just doesn't make sense especially when it's in a critical spot that could lead to penalty
English

@oloydbabs @oma_larry @abenasports @FabrizioRomano This is against common sense and that’s why it has to be reviewed.
English

@GodChris3 @abenasports @FabrizioRomano That's why it needs to be reviewed, I remember clearly something like this happening when an African team was trying to clear a ball, a player came out of his line of sight and penalty was awarded.
English

@oma_larry @abenasports @FabrizioRomano There is nothing like i didn't see or not intentional in football
English

@HonestNarrativ I feel sorry for the sane professors and respectable elders from the North cos these ones always make people feel people over there are dumb. Imagine the ideas this one has distributed to the gullible followers.
English

"If an Igbo man could go to my state and set up a shop, why shouldn’t herdsmen operate elsewhere? Or are you the one who plantebd the grass the animals are feeding on? Are you the one who created the water they drink?
The land belongs to Nigerians and herdsmen are Nigerians. If an Igbo man can go to the North and set up a business, why won’t herdsmen go to the South, including your village, to graze their cattle?"
~ Prof Ango Abdullahi.
Me: 😳😳
Kai!!!
Imagine this coming from a Professor.
The comparison is fundamentally flawed.
An Igbo trader who opens a shop in another state does so by buying or renting property, obeying the laws of the host state, paying taxes, and respecting the rights of the local community. He does not claim ownership of other people's land simply because he is a Nigerian.
By contrast, no Nigerian has a constitutional right to move livestock onto another person's farmland or community land without the owner's consent. Freedom of movement does not translate into freedom to occupy, use, k!ll or destroy private or communal property.
Citizenship guarantees equal rights under the law... not unrestricted access to someone else's land. Property rights remain protected under the Constitution.
Public figures, especially academics, should elevate national discourse with sound reasoning, not analogies that ignore legal principles and the painful realities many farming communities have faced in the hands of these bandits and gun-wielding Fulani herdsmen.
Nigeria needs solutions built on the rule of law: ranching, lawful land acquisition, respect for property rights, and peaceful coexistence... not arguments that risk deepening division.
We should debate these issues with facts, fairness, and respect for every Nigerian's rights.
