@f4micom 'laundry list' persuasion: she is trying to sound relatable by listing common topics alongside a bunch of non-sequiturs related to what she's trying to sell. AI is just the latest in a line of ethereal mirages/pyramid schemes, hype/hypnosis backs the value entirely.

@OmarSacca @georgebsocial If the final image looks good, why does it matter how it’s produced? I don’t get this purist mindset where every pixel has to come directly from traditional rendering instead of reconstruction or upscaling.

I see lots of bitching about DLSS 5. To me it just illustrates how many ppl online just want to be unhappy and bitch about everything all the time.
I would assume 1) it's optional and 2) you can toggle it so 3) touch grass for fuck's sake.

@georgebsocial I think the point of there being good, bad, and ugly uses of the tech warrants discussion, the might of investment firm money shouldn’t be the only factor directing technology. It should be driven by genuine need, or genuine utility. Not “ooo look at the pretty colors!”

@OmarSacca Well there's going to be great, meh and bad uses of any new technology. Some necessary and ungodly useful and some less so. Being as this is an option I don't see the need for any comment at all on it. And everything in the world is hype/shareholder-driven. Even down to tacos!

@georgebsocial My bias is due to the lack of genuinely impressive uses of the tech being put forth. There are plenty of ethical & innovative uses for machine-learning and I’ve been a fan of those. It’s this current wave, which is purely hype/shareholder-driven, that I would consider a bubble.

@OmarSacca It's not a bubble, and you're being completely reductive without even having tried it while being obviously biased against AI. The demos are certainly impressive for some style games. How about we wait and see?!
