Every time I listen to old Namibian classics, I genuinely feel sad. There’s truly a gap, music back then was highly regarded as real music.. It reminds me that there’s a huge responsibility on artists like me to continue the legacy the stars before us left behind. I won’t lie, at some point I was also blinded by the idea of copying sounds and singing in a style that appealed more to other African countries, because I thought that would help me, the artist, leave a mark on the global stage. But I came to realize something important: I can’t sell Nigeria to Nigeria, and I can’t sell South Africa to South Africa. I need to sell Namibia to the world. Taking pride in my heritage, in who I am as an artist, where I come from, and what I represent. The music I’m about to drop this year is truly going to change my life for the better. I’m excited because it’s the most authentic I have ever been. ✨❤️

@NamibianCleaner There’s a difference between stage costume and lack of professionalism. Context matters, a festival, a club, a corporate event… not every platform requires the same dress code

Now when you mention dressing code, what then becomes of the female artists who basically dress semi naked?

TikTok fame is not the same as real artistry. The music industry is supposed to be professional. When nonsense trends become the standard, serious artists end up getting booked for N$100. We need to raise the bar.

When we talk about promoting art and showing up for yourself, I use myself as an example. I pushed one song so hard that people started thinking my whole catalogue sounded the same when in reality, it was just that one record on repeat. 😂🥰🌸!

When certain behaviours on stage lack professionalism, it doesn’t just affect one person, it impacts the perception of the entire music industry. And unfortunately, that’s how we end up losing value, with major events choosing to book internationally instead✨
