@ZachCurtis2 @siobhankennedy4 @scottygb @Channel4News @scott_mills But no new allegations have been raised for him to deny. That case has not been reopened. Why does he need to deny again something that has already been investigated and dealt with, that he clearly denied at the time? He’s not being investigated for anything to deny?

Scott Mills has spoken @Channel4News @scott_mills Scott Mills said:
“The recent announcement that I am no longer contracted to the BBC has led to the publication of rumour and speculation. In response to this the Metropolitan Police has made a statement, which I confirm relates to me. An allegation was made against me in 2016 of a historic sexual offence which was the subject of a police investigation in which I fully cooperated and responded to in 2018. As the police have stated, a file of evidence was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service, which determined that the evidential threshold had not been met to bring charges.

Since the investigation related to an allegation that dates back nearly 30 years and the police investigation was closed 7 years ago, I hope that the public and the media will understand and respect my wish not to make any further public comment on this matter.

I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart all those who have reached out to me with kindness, my former colleagues, and my beloved listeners, who I greatly miss.”

@KHarveyProctor @scott_mills @BBC When he signed his contract was there a clause in it requiring him to reveal any historical interactions with Police whether guilty or not. If so and he never said, then certainly he would be in the shit regarding honesty and integrity. Would he have been employed if he did

I am deeply concerned by the @scott_mills story, following his sacking by @BBC. Mills was allegedly investigated by the Metropolitan Police, with a file handed to the CPS who decided there was insufficient evidence to prosecute. If an individual can be investigated, cleared of prosecution due to insufficient evidence, & still face professional ruin, then we are entering dangerous territory. Institutions must be very careful not to substitute due process with reputational expediency. Justice cannot operate on suspicion alone, nor can fairness be preserved if allegations—untested in a court of law—are treated as proof. We must ask ourselves: are we upholding justice, or quietly dismantling it?

@Ali_900r @PolitlcsUK @DailyMirror Ser there was obviously a lot of evidence since he got charged. The evidential standard required for a criminal trial vs the evidential standard required to dismiss someone is very different

Northfield Road W13 PramCam is back! @EalingCouncil are happy for parents with buggies to walk in the road on this street. The reason for this, is to accommodate drivers who need to park on the pavement right outside their homes, which is their right of course. Or is it?

@stuffsabsays Don’t know which book you read, but no ‘childhood trauma’ in it, it reads as a driven individual striving to be the best she can be, hyper focussed with high standards and disciplined. Pretty much the same I would imagine for any elite athlete in any sport that gets to the top

After reading the Earps autobiography, it’s clear that she has a lot of personal, intimate issues she’s yet to fully grasp or heal. It’s really a person with tons of insecurities due to childhood trauma that is projecting on Hampton for "having it easier" - it’s frankly just sad.

@arsenalessia @_treacherous_13 She’s not talking about now, she’s talking about the past, so yes, Hampton would have been coming through from the under 21’s etc….. everything she’s said is not now, it’s past, and concerning Hannah, was well documented at the time in the press, which people seem to forget

“Sarina was bringing three other keepers into her squad: Ellie Roebuck, who came back in as number two and was an incredible and supportive teammate; Sandy MacIver, who I got on well with, and Hannah Hampton, who’d recently come through from the age groups” Beautiful I’d say.

@BrianCu83961862 Unlike riding a bicycle which anyone can do with no training or licence, it's a legal requirement to have a licence to drive on public roads in the UK.

@ghost_wales @MendyHowe12 I genuinely think we'll have another Anthony Martin situation. The farmer who shot two burglars, one of whom died and for which Martin was imprisoned. If people can't rely on the government and police to keep them safe many could look for their own ways to protect themselves.

Apparently it’s not against the law for someone to walk into your home? Can i just say it should be and the house owner should be legally allowed to chase out the person who walked in. I find it hard to believe it’s not against the law.

@MarkSharon_DP @SaferRoadsYorks You are aware the HWC distance is essentially the distance if the cyclist came off, any closer and they’d be run over as passing. A moving vehicle creates wind drag, Cyclists filter through stationary/slow traffic so of course can go through smaller gap, but nice try

@on2wheelz @SaferRoadsYorks They were a safe distance from the cyclist. Not HWC 'safe' using a distance nobody can measure, but real world safe based on the ability to judge gaps by eye. If cyclists can filter through gaps so can drivers

You should not enter any hatched area bounded by a broken line unless it is safe to do so. Passing a cyclist who is overtaking parked cars is not such a time. Reported to the police. Let's hope the safer driving course included rule 130. #Steeton #AiredaleHospital

@AuntyTori @ES_News_ CPS authorised the charges against NX21, and it took a jury under 15 mins to acquit, so clearly didn’t meet threshold.

@ES_News_ CPS approved the charge and so they considered the alleged behaviour met the threshold for the offence AND the evidence presented a reasonable prospect of a conviction.

@HighwaysNWEST I don’t know, maybe mentioning this prior to passing jcn 19 would have been a good idea. The hour and 15 mins to travel a mile and a half to jcn 18 in the tailback was amazing, and couldn’t think of a better way to spend my evening.
