@nicsadventure @BBCNews If you are a woman who had her baby forcibly removed. Or a child of one of these women. This is NOT virtue signalling. Hearing an apology means the world and is of great signficance.

@Skyphly Said in reply to my feelings around not belonging when they have no knowledge or experience of being adopted, being raised in a mixed race family, losing your genetic/ethnic/cultural heritage, disenfranchised grief, identity confusion, no genetic mirroring. And so on.

@Skyphly "You might be offended by what I'm about to say but. This happens in biological families too..." and "it's not just in adopted families, in my family I..." and variations of this, said by persons (friends mostly) with no personal experience whatsoever of adoption, from any angle.
