The Senate still has no ACA funding deal or framework. Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, tells me they hope to have "a tentative thing soonish." This week? "Hopefully." Next week the Senate is on recess. The week after is the Jan. 30 gov't funding deadline.

When we talk about health insurance premiums, we typically frame them as financial burdens, because they often are! But—absent auto-pay—paying premiums is also a hassle, and I had this nagging question: what do tiny premiums do to enrollment? We try to answer that here. 🧵

The federal government has announced that 22.8 million people have signed up for ACA marketplace coverage for this year, down 1.5 million from last year with enhanced tax credits expiring. The coverage loss will likely grow as people don’t actually make their premium payments.
