holy fuck, a hair dryer at a Paris airport broke Polymarket weather markets & made someone $34,000 richer
- polymarket was settling Paris temperature bets on a single Météo France sensor sitting near the Charles de Gaulle runway perimeter - basically unguarded
- the guy bought the long-shot outcome (like "22°C" when everyone expected 18°C) for pennies, since nobody thought it'd hit
- then he walked up to the probe and briefly heated the air around it with a portable heat source, spiking the reading just long enough to register as the daily max
- temperature snapped back to normal in minutes, the market resolved in his favor, and he cashed out - twice, on April 6 and April 15, before Météo France caught on and filed charges

Watching the timeline and market react so harshly to the $BIRB tokenomics has been comical.
As former @Azuki community manager and $ANIME contributor, I watched the timeline when @animecoin announced its tokenomics last year as well:
• 50.5% supply going to the community
• zero vesting for holders
• 1 year lockup + 2 year vesting for team/foundation
At the time, everyone was extremely happy about this: this was exactly what CT wanted. Huge supply unlock for the community, and a very clear long term incentive for the foundation to continue working on the coin, given that no team coins would be unlocked until after at least a year.
After TGE, $ANIME ‘s FDV fell sharply from its $1.5B peak, and the narrative shifted. Many creators and NFT traders who had bought Azukis mainly for the airdrop began criticizing the team and foundation for not doing more to support the token’s price. This happened despite shaky market conditions (right before $MELANIA and $LIBRA) and a large Day 1 unlock, which was something the community originally pushed for. At the same time, NFT prices dropped as many airdrop-focused buyers claimed and sold, then exited.
My point is this: everyone wants something different, and nobody can ultimately predict the future based on a mere tokenomics announcement.
The fact that @spencer and his @Ocapgames team acquired @moonbirds, an all but dead project at the time, less than a year ago and is already making so much progress on building up the brand and products says a lot about their ability to execute.

After the tokenomics for the @moonbirds $BIRB drop were released today, the floor price across the NFT collections fell by around 40%.
Many people are unhappy with the small share of tokens allocated to the community and with the long vesting period. I have given this a lot of thought, and it is hard not to feel disappointed seeing my NFTs lose so much value
If it turns out that the Soulbound Tokens are indeed entitled to only 2% of the total allocation, then my big bet simply did not work out and it has cost me a lot of money. That is the reality.
That said, I still believe that a reduced token supply on the open market can be a strong opportunity to keep the price elevated over the long term.
With "Birb. Game 1", there will be a mechanism that allows unclaimed tokens to be earned by completing tasks, whatever form those tasks may take.
I plan to nest my collection as a whole and, apart from two or three birds that I need for @opensea $SEA farming, I am fully committed.
I am genuinely looking forward to an exciting mechanism and everything that lies ahead.
