The only books that anyone on X has read is Blood Meridian, Starship Troopers, Dune and Lord of the Rings. And the latter three, people just watched the movies.

@AuronMacintyre I am a writer of right-wing fiction. I will let others decide if it is “art.” But I always like to get my novel out there: a.co/d/8bETC22

@HomericFuturist Trust is a strong word here. One should never explicitly trust any talking head or government official. I suggest an inverse poll. “Who do you distrust more?”

If you were introduced to Tom Bombadil as a character through the 1979 The Mind’s Eye radio play featuring Bernard Mayes as Tom Bombadil, you may not see it this way. I always thought of him as strange and chaotic but beautifully whimsical. He may confounding to some but I consider him proof that power is not itself corrupting, and despite the gravity of the moment, the world of Middle Earth has stranger things to offer than even Sauron’s consuming ambition.

Tom Bombadil stops the story cold. We are in an exciting cross-country trip as the hobbits pick their way through a creepy haunted forest to avoid the sinister Black Riders. A terrifying black huorn ensnares them. Poof! Here comes Tom deus-ex-machina Bombadil to save the hobbits from a threat which Tolkien seems to have created to give him an excuse to insert Bombadil. Then, just as the story starts to move again, Tom shows up a SECOND time as a deus-ex-machina to rescue the hobbits from the barrow wight. Ugh. Again stopping the story cold. What is Bombadil's function? He doesn't represent the Old Good Ways which the fellowship must save. Bombadil isn't threatened - he's a cheesy distraction. I'm not saying it's impossible to convince me that Bombadil is a Good Thing, but such a convincing would be an uphill battle, and I view Tom as one of Tolkien's missteps. I am happy Jackson left him out of the film, because it would have stopped the movie's flow too.

Social Security is the most fraudulent scheme ever to be foisted upon the American people. Only 90% of the $29.7 trillion collected has been ever been paid out. However that $29.7 trillion could have generated returns of over $100 trillion in the investment market, just sitting in broad market index funds. Hell, even in treasuries it could have doubled. You have been scammed.

@BrainLeakage03 @jd_sauvage This implies that there is some seriously well written smut out there that no one realizes once paid the rent of H.P. Lovecraft.

@travis4nh If I may ask the critical question here: Where are you submitting libertarian science fiction for said awards? Congratulations on those, by the by.

I am a David Friedman / Nozick style anarchocapitalist, have won awards for my libertarian science fiction novels (twice), and serve in the NH Statehouse. ...and I'm arguably only the 25th or so most libertarian person in that body. Does that answer your question?
Tony D'Orazio@TonyForLP

@VerMemeIstan @SoToSpeakCaucus @Liberty90744 @LPNH So, there are "undercover" Libertarians in the statehouse, or there are Republicans that try to claim the L brand? People elected not as Libertarians aren't growing the party.... Parties exist to get people elected under their banner, not everyone else's "undercover".
