I've never seen another soul use it, so I want to share that @onecommander is a crazy good alternative file explorer for Windows, and after tweaking a setting you can in much better detail view especially pixelart assets right from the explorer without it being blurred #pixelart

@klionthekrude There won't be animations like grid reordering as I consider those unnecessary. Opening program will be faster in C applications, but launcing files should be same as that is a system call and OC or any other programs are just asking Windows to do the operations

@onecommander Link is working now. but the version still has this bug in the image provided . Filepilot is kind of new via filepilot.tech site. It's advantage is smoother animations, faster file opening and lower lag on even opening many tabs. But Onecommander is stabler and reliable.

Looking for beta testers for V4. onecommander.com/OneCommander0.… There has been a ton of changes. If you want stable version, stick with V3. This beta can run from a separate folder in parallel with V3 (no need to uninstall anything) Send bug reports: About>Github issues page

@klionthekrude Make sure you run it from a new folder and not over v3 install because theme keys are different and old themes are not valid (so you can't keep the old settings file pointing to the new theme).

@klionthekrude hmm, the link works when I click on it in this post try copy/pasting and delete space onecommander. com/OneCommander0.0.26.0.zip v4 is faster than v3 already. I have not used filepilot, so let me know what is percieved faster in it (except startup due to .net vs C)

@onecommander @onecommander - the link you provided doesn't seem to work. Can you provide the full link for v4 to test? Onecommander is reliable. Just hope it gets as fast as "FilePilot"

For the next few days I’ll be working on website updates and switching payments from Stripe to Paddle. The license price will be going back to $30 + tax (it’s currently discounted at $25). This is a good opportunity to grab it before the price goes back up.

@Oe7Radioman They are marked with [PRO] in settings, and in some places they show up in UI, like when you have more than 8 custom scripts and so on

@ChLee1982 You can edit copy of the theme to make the border show around each selected file, but not just one file like with keyboard focus. Note that v4 will use different theme files so any effort you add into editing it will have to be repeated with new theme system

@onecommander is there a way to make file item selected (keyboard-focused element display style) work on mouse selection as well? I am considering buying a Pro License. I like how it makes the selected file stand out.

@mrosenberg789 In main window preview just shows thumbnail of word if one is embedded, but preview window can load shell preview. Unfortunately those previews don't work in main window because office previews use some ancient tech. There might be 3rd party preview in v4, and then it should work

@onecommander The Word document preview is too small in the centre, and when I try to enlarge it, it becomes illegible. The space bar works, though.

@m365ro Do you get it from the official website? I always check if on virustotal virustotal.com/gui/file/650d9… plus I always sign the exe

@onecommander Can you please check if you are infected with malware... I get repeated notifications about malware associated with OneCommander on updates. If it continues I will uninstall the software... I like it but this is not ok.

@onecommander it can't run from chocolatey folder, can't run from program files, finally slapped it to the temp folder. froze several times, than i've ran as admin, with firewall off, and could see it in action. way too much effort.

@austeregrim Which metadata in main view? Resolution is shown if pane is wide enough. There is another view with full metadata. In v4 there will be a similar one but with 2 lines high, so it takes less space. Let me know if you have an idea for another one

Adding a search middle pane isn't a needed thing, just a nice to have, BUT having search replace just ONE of the browser panes would be awesome, instead of the popout window. Lock Matching preview pane height would be nice too. File Metadata in default browse view would be nice.

Okay @onecommander Here's my problem with preview... and the search what I mentioned before. Sorting through 100s of iphone MOV files, mix of live photos and intentional videos, preview is a standalone window... this is a minor nag, I was able to use OC unlike other file managers

@austeregrim New Search will be an instant search, but that requires admin rights, so it would need to be a separate window anyway. Other type of preview with search would be tricky

But again, your file manager was the only one that did everything I needed without annoying cruft, animations, or just lies on the homepage of functions that are only in an alpha release that doesn't do anything else...

@austeregrim Thanks! When you say "preview panel in main window"... did you collapse it (Alt+P) or did you mean something else?

Okay, well @onecommander rules... Its way better than any other option. and its freeeee... It needs some features; like preview panel in the main window, and search function to replace a browse pane. Otherwise worked as expected, thank you onecommander!

@Matt_Mitacek Thanks! Unfortunately not possible unless Microsoft ports its UI framework (WPF) to Mac, but considering that these days they just care about AI, I don't think that will ever happen

@ProlapsedProp I don't have a phone with card anymore to test, but one of tutorial videos on setting up Phone Link was showing guy's folder with both. That's strange. Maybe try looking that particular thing if anyone had issue. Maybe permission in PhoneLink app on phone?

@jeremyfeather Sorry but not possible. OC is made in WPF which is Windows-only framework, plus all the APIs used are also Windows-only

@onecommander I would LOVE to see a Linux version of your app! It is without a doubt, the best file manager, I've used it for years on windows. I would gladly test a Linux version if ever in the works?! thanks!
