@onemoremoose I would love to have the regions (“Socknar”, sort of parishes) of my home island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea, there’s 92 of them. I’ve not been able to download the GeoJSON from the municipality’s open data portal yet, but I’ve requested the data.

@onemoremoose Thanks for a great little game! Do you have a process of taking suggestions on new maps for Travle? And in that case, what more than a GeoJSON for borders is required, all connections between regions?

@onemoremoose WHY is Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus the default option when I type "TURK" and hit enter quickly thinking it'd be Turkiye!?!?

@EdSmith15222246 Honestly you could be right! I believed a paper I found that the one in game is the longest, but a few players have since said there's one from Africa that avoids the Dead Sea.

@onemoremoose I think i found a longer line, if you get it just right it threads the Suez ithimus, the dead sea and various large lakes. From Conakry in Guinea 9.540694515644475, -13.685062847665028 to this spot in Guangdong 22.734920571506144, 114.60115270352385

My favourite travle challenge so far is live at travle.earth/challenge - traversing the longest straight line on land on planet earth!

@markshrime If the game allowed that connection, it would've also given one fewer guess to complete the puzzle too. So if it's any consolation, it mightn't have mattered.

@markshrime And I get the frustration! I regularly get emails who're annoyed about getting a +1 score because of croatia's border with montenegro in the game, so that's not a perfect solution either.

@markshrime The border in travle follows the berm wall, and so the two countries barely don't touch.

@markshrime This is one of the more controversial parts of travle - it uses naturalearth map data which in turn defines borders based on the areas of land currently controlled by various factions (as opposed to e.g. the US or EU opinion of where borders should be). en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_S…

@lordkarma88 As a backup, you can go to imois.in/games/travle_s…, dismiss the 'migrate' modal, go to settings > migrate and copy the 'migration code' and paste it into travle.earth.

@lordkarma88 Sorry to hear (and sorry I didn't see this until now - I'm not on twitter much anymore). It looks like the saves from all the other game modes worked except the 'world' one.

@onemoremoose the migrate account modal won't display so I'm about to lose my streak. I managed to get the link from dev tools but the link doesn't work (pastebin.com/ASuENKK9) It seems the save is found but it fails to save (pastebin.com/7FfinjPF)
