I think I finally figured out something about YouTube growth during my tests and trial by errors, and honestly, it changed how I see some things.
You know that feeling when one of your channels starts blowing up and suddenly any new channel you create around that time also starts getting views fast? But when nothing is working, you can create five channels, ten channels, and every single one of them just sits there doing absolutely nothing? Not even impressions.
A lot of people see that and immediately conclude there is some kind of "trust score" tied to your device or your account. Like YouTube is somewhere in a room saying "oh this one is our guy, let us push everything he uploads."
It is actually not what is happening at all.hill, there is trust score, but not in the way you think, I have a post on that, you can check my highlistsI
But it is actually not what is happening at all.
Let me break it down in the most relaxed way possible.
YouTube does not care about your laptop, hold on, I will explain.
Every video gets tested on its own. YouTube just wants to know three things:
Are people clicking? Are they staying? Are they enjoying it?
That is literally the whole game. Nothing more.
So why does the pattern feel so real though?
Here is the fun part. When one of your videos finally blows up, something quietly happens to you. You enter a different mode without even realizing it. Your ideas start making more sense. Your titles get sharper. Your editing improves. You just get better, naturally.
So when you open a new channel during that period, you are not the same creator who was struggling before. You are an upgraded version of yourself. That is why the new channel takes off, because consciously or not, you understand what works at that instant.
It is not about trust score, it is Skill upgrade. Big difference.
Also, good ideas usually travel in groups. If one video blew up, there is a good chance people are genuinely hungry for that kind of content. So everything else you make around that same topic has a better shot at working too. It feels like YouTube is favoring you but really you just stumbled onto something people actually want to watch. That is why we have one-hit wonders, people who blow up but can't replicate the success because they can't match the pattern that made it happen and use it for another channel or niche.
What about brand new channels though?
Even a channel with zero subscribers and zero history still gets a small test audience. YouTube shows your video to a few people and just watches what happens. If those people engage, the video grows. If they scroll away, it stops there. I always advise warming up channels (I didn't believe in it before, till I learnt about it) so your channel has some human activities.
So when people say their new channel is "dead," what is usually happening is that every video is failing that small test quietly. Until one day, one video passes. And that is what everyone calls the breakthrough. Not luck. Not some algorithm secret. Just one video finally clicking with people.
The only time your account history actually matters.
If you are out here creating ten channels, uploading recycled content, behaving like a bot, yes YouTube will notice and yes they will restrict you. But that is a punishment not a reward system. You do not get extra points for being a good creator. You only get flagged for looking suspicious.
So what does all this mean for you?
If one of your channels is winning right now, relax and pay attention. Your device is not blessed. You just figured something out that is working. Study it. Repeat it. Build on it.
That is genuinely how people grow multiple successful channels. Not by hunting for secret algorithm hacks but by understanding what they did right and doing more of it.
The algorithm is really not that deep. It just shows people what people want to watch. Be that thing and you will be fine.
Did you learn? Repost.
