Last split I held Apex Predator 100% Solo Queue. I am one of the only people to ever do this on PC. Here's my advice:
The game starts as soon as the queue pops. Do NOT afk character select and or the drop ship. Politely ask your teammates for jump master and DO NOT land on 2+ teams. Contesting a team is fine, but landing Pylon with 4 teams is asking to lose RP.
Ask your teammates to play a support character in champ select. If they say no or do not look like they will pick one, pick one yourself. I recommend Loba, Conduit, or Lifeline. The ability to craft banners is OP and will save you a lot of RP.
The reality of solo queue is that you will get poor performing teammates from time to time. What's most important is that you keep a positive mindset so that you can take advantage of the good teammates when you get them. If your teammates feed game 1 and you let it tilt you, you will not be able to fully take advantage of the good teammates you get in the next game.
Apex Legends is a numbers and volume game. Bad streaks will happen. What's most important is that you do everything you possibly can to stack it in your favor.
My favorite way to think about the game is as an equation. Say 6x + 5v + 3c +6a ... (and so on) = RP Gain/Loss over time. There are an infinite number of variables and you want to stack as many of them in your favor as possible. Sleep, Food, Mindset, Aim Training, using your mic well, etc. Every little thing that you do slightly better will effect how much RP you average per game. If your sleep is bad, it will go down. If you have a bad mindset, it will go down. If you aim train, it will go up. There is nothing in this game you can't improve on. Take every little thing serious.
Aim is the #1 most important thing in this game. The difference between someone who hits 16% of their shots and 17% of their shots is massive. The amount of times that I've hit somebody for 190/200 only for them to cause my death is unbelievably large. Improving your aim even slightly makes a huge difference. Anyone can get better aim and it is the most important skill.
Do not take every fight you see. Putting yourself in a good spot is huge. Always try and think about what you're going to do 1-2 zones ahead. The more chaotic a game is, the less you should look ahead. If you're AFK in zone 2 with purple armors and good loot, you should be able to plan out most of your game while you're bored. If you're in gas and round 2 is about to start closing and youre fighting 2 teams, just do whatever it takes to survive moment to moment. The current system favors elims over placement, but if you're dead you can't get elims.
Be proactive in times of surplus, and reactive in times of drought. Example: If you get purple armor early, use that advantage to fight blue armor teams. Example 2: If you had to rez in gas and your loot is bad, try to play more for placement and third parties.
