They only care about money, even if it comes at the cost of a war with Russia that they can't win. The European intellectual elite is almost not heard, as if it doesn't exist. Here and there, sporadically, some opposition sovereignist party appears that could fight for the real interests of its people and its state, but there are still not enough of them to return the EU to its initial "European values" that were attractive to everyone ... That's gone now, because this now resembles Orwell's "Big Brother" and his vision of the state. When I rest, maybe I'll continue ...

This just shows that you have no idea who lived in Ukraine and who its inhabitants were. For the most part, these were people who declared themselves Russian, felt like Russians, spoke Russian, were of the Russian Orthodox faith, cultivated Russian culture and customs, had their own Russian cultural, religious and linguistic heritage, past and history ... and at the same time were loyal citizens/citizens of Ukraine until the armed coup of 2014 and the violent seizure of power by Ukrainian neo-Nazis. Yes, those children were Russian, they were born in Ukraine and killed in Ukraine by neo-Nazis. That is why the people in Donbass rebelled against the neo-Nazi putschists because he felt a danger and a threat to his survival.
