@Radiojottings @tvark Paddy Feeny. Top bloke. Briefly worked on World Service Saturday Special. In it's heyday it had a vast and very very loyal audience. Paddy was a proper celebrity in ex-Colonial parts of the world.

Ask Anne was an 11 episode entertainment series broadcast fortnightly on BBC tv from 30 April to 17 September 1961. Anne and her guests sing and perform songs that have been requested by the British public who are interviewed by Patrick Feeney.

I've just liberated this poor disorientated Holy Blue butterfly that fluttered down & settled on the floor of the concourse at Charing Cross Station. No one else noticed it & it would likely have been trodden on. So I took it to Tunbridge Wells in one of the pots I always carry

Gordon Greenidge and Barry Richards walk out to bat for Hampshire in 1973. I don’t envy whoever was the county pro who had to open the bowling against them.

@1968Tv Know traditionalists won't like it but it's a shame the FA Cup Final didn't move with the times and copy some of the entertainment caché of the Superbowl. It might have become a worldwide watch and saved the glorious old competition.

@hantscricket Amazing cricketer and widely liked within the game. Many years ago we made a short documentary about his life for ITV Meridian. Sad that he's not around to impart his knowledge and skills to future generations. @theprowt

bbc.co.uk/news/articles/… Have to say this echoes my recent experience with huge queues at passport control in France and the plane leaving behind schedule as a result. This new system might work eventually with automatic machines but manually it seems very slow and cumbersome

Bit of excitement here this morning in Odiham with an unexploded grenade being pulled out of the Basingstoke Canal by someone magnet fishing! Safely detonated by the Army in a nearby field

35 Years Ago today, a 0-5 defeat at Torquay United brought a final end to the Len Walker era. It ends a phenomenal combined 22 years of service, which saw Len make 489 appearances a player, and return to oversee a total of 512 matches in the dugout. Aldershot Royalty.

Just watched a glorious old episode of TSW's "Secrets of the Coast" on @rewindtvuk . Peregrine Falcons, Heath Fritillary butterflies & a very young King Charles all starring. They don't make em like that anymore, sadly.

Purple Emperor larvae are remarkably advanced, having come through the winter in good numbers. Some started to feed last week - very early - by 'bud biting'. At this rate the butterfly will be on the wing by early June - numbers could be very high...
