On this day in 1972, future actor, Mark Harmon led UCLA to a stunning upset win over Nebraska. Ending a 32 game win streak. The game is also noted as the first ever @cfb_belt game and defense.

On this day in 2007, Penn State hosted it’s first ever official full stadium “white-out” game against Notre Dame (The tradition did begin with the student section in 2004) Penn State won, 31-10.

On this day: September 2nd, 1989. The Southern Miss Eagles led by QB Brett Favre pulled off an upset for the ages of the #6 Florida State Seminoles. 30-26

On this day: September 1st, 2007. One of the biggest and most memorable upsets in college football history went down as Appalachian State stunned the Michigan Wolverines in front of 109,218 fans. 34-32

On this day: August 31st, 1991. The inaugural Big East football game is played when Rutgers knocked off Boston College (coached by Tom Coughlin.) 20-13
