The most significant and outrageous development in the Prairieland trial in Fort Worth today was that Judge Pittman ruled that the defendants cannot present further evidence to argue that it was self-defense/defense of others to fire at a cop who had jumped out of his vehicle, pulled his a gun and was aiming it at the back of a protester who was running away. Notably the judge cited a court of appeals case whitewashing the government's massacre of the Branch Dravidians in Waco, Texas in the 1990s.

Worth, TX: “An injury to one is an injury to all!” PDC comrades were in Texas again today to fight the bogus prosecution of the Prairieland 9 on “terrorism” charges for protesting ICE. “Everyone should be coming out!” This is a fight that the whole left needs to take up! Update: In court today a jury was seated. No one knows quite what went down because the public (including defendants' families) were barred from the Ft. Worth court house and the video feed 40 miles away in Dallas repeatedly failed. Hands off anti-ICE student walkouts! Thousands of high school and even elementary school students across the country have held walkouts against ICE terror in recent weeks. This has been met with a vicious crackdown against students, teachers and others, including suspensions, firings and criminal charges. From largely Latino Woodbridge Senior High in Virginia to Oklahoma’s Mustang High, hundreds have been suspended. Last Friday, in Quakertown, PA, the town police chief attacked walkout protesters and was videotaped placing a female student in a chokehold. Adults have been targeted as well. In Summerville, SC, Dinah Chollet was charged with “contributing to the delinquency of a minor” for encouraging a walkout. In Jersey City, former School Board president Mussab Ali who supported a walkout was banned from school properties. Los Angeles history teacher Carlos Lopez was fired for opening a school gate for students joining city wide walkouts. Texas Governor Abbott threatened to sanction teachers and school districts that allowed walkouts. Florida’s State Board of Education has seized on the walkouts to pummel the teachers’ union. The first day in court for the Baldwin Park 3, anti-ICE activists in LA: 46 out of prospective 90 jurors had strong feelings against ICE and Judge Wilson booted them all based on supposed inability to be fair. In opening statements, the three defense attorneys showed how the video evidence disproves the prosecution case. The prosecution claims the defendants were “stalking” the ICE agent as he drove home and “doxxing” him. But the video shows he drove out of the ICE parking lot in an ICE-marked car and the activists were simply following to see what neighborhood he aimed to terrorize next and warn his victims. Free the Baldwin Park 3! Drop the Charges!

The PDC is closely following the persecution on bogus charges of the Prairieland defendants in Texas as well as the Baldwin Park 3 in Los Angeles. An injury to one is an injury to all!
