New Orleans 911 is dangerously inept. I called 4x over the span of an hour and every time it went to their automated message saying “someone will call you back”. Instead, I kept receiving this text message. No one ever called. This is deadly. @NOPDNews @Cassiewdsu @JPMorrell

This week is “National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week." The NOFD would like to recognize and thank our communications staff and our public safety partners at the Orleans Parish Communications District (OPCD) who are crucial in connecting the public with emergency services.

Both year-round & during this National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we are so proud to support & work alongside the New Orleans Police Department in helping to keep our community safe. Some very nice thoughts from NOPD Superintendent Kirkpatrick:

1. EXCLUSIVE An internal Social Security Administration memo, dated March 13, lays out a plan to sabotage the agency. The memo itself predicts "service disruption," "operational strain," and "budget shortfalls" will result. Follow this thread for details.

The Orleans Parish Communication District Board of Commissioners’ regularly scheduled meeting is this Tuesday, March 11 at 10:00 a.m. in our Board conference room, 118 City Park Ave, New Orleans.
