@ptss16 @footindiabetes That is a very interesting, I had not considered this. Our boots all feature a removable sole for hygiene and for getting into bed etc, however it is not suitable for walking without the sole. So that would not be a suitable compromise either :(

@ptss16 @footindiabetes Best practice guidelines such as IWGDF state that TCC or a non-removal knee high walker (such as the VACOcast Diabetic) should be the first line treatment for DFU's. Unfortunately, in the UK it is not the most common practice, but there's great work happening to change that :)

@footindiabetes In Japan, I do foot care. My hospital uses TCC as standard for many diabetic foot patients. I hear that it is rarely used overseas. How is it actually? What about devices that replace it?

@sancho_igor @rwilly2003 @scottcarlinpt Many standard conservative treatments can cause concern for tendon elongation (using a orthosis with wedges) the VACOped allows for true equinus and range of movement to eliminate such concerns :) opedmedical.com/wp-content/upl…
