YouTube's CEO announced a crackdown on AI slop in 2026. The platform is drowning in low-quality generated content. Your best defense against the noise? Own your distribution. When your content lives on your domain the algorithm can't bury you. open.video

1 of 100's of ways creators have used Open.Video and LLMs to own more, earn more, and grow their audience faster
Tyler Bishop@TylerBishop

The @open__video mcp server has made it so that I record a video and tell Claude... 1. Never open a video editor 2 Get better video production 3. My videos appear on my channel in produced form minutes later Basically a video team. I'm saving days not hours.

YouTube videos rank for YouTube. Your Open.Video channel? Ranks for you. Each video auto-generates SEO-optimized watch pages that compete for Google video carousels -- under your domain. Creators are outranking their own YouTube channels in search.

3 sentences to Claude and 15 minutes later I had... Created a playlist, added 21 brand new videos, optimized them for search engines, and added thumbnails. Open.Video mcp + Claude just changed how I think about video content.

What if every video you published ranked on YOUR domain -- not YouTube's? Open.Video is a first-party video engine for the open web. Every video gets an SEO-ready watch page on your site. Your brand in search results. This is what ownership looks like.

200M+ people call themselves creators. Most don't own their audience or content or revenue stream. Forbes called it structurally vulnerable -- highly visible yet building on rented land. The shift to owned platforms isn't a trend. It's survival. open.video

@HoopleticsYT Setup an open.video even if you elect to continue uploading to YouTube. That way you'll still have and own all your content; plus you'll have the emails of subscribers and still have your own channel to share.

YouTube just ruined my life. I lost everything due to an AI error. My channel was terminated last month on February 4, 2026 and my appeal was instantly rejected in a few minutes. I already dm’d teamyoutube and they told me they’ll take a look into it. 20 days later they replied to my DM saying the decision stands. But this is clearly another mistake by their AI because there are literally channels that create the same exact type of content and none of them have any issues. Ever since then, I haven’t gotten any reply from youtube since. I am certain I didn’t violate any Spam policies. Even legitimate creators like @Ra1neyX had the same exact issue, their appeal was rejected instantly and they were also told the decision the terminate their channel “stands” through DM from teamyoutube on X BUT about a month later Ra1neyX finally got their channels reinstated because youtube finally took a proper look at it. Showing more proof this AI is making mistakes and it took Ra1neyX over 2 months to get youtube to take a proper look at it when they were innocent this whole time. This is becoming such a huge issue. Why do innocent creators like myself, Ra1neyX, and many others have to keep posting for months on end or resort to legal action just to get a proper review? We are human beings that love to create content but this AI moderation is ending dreams and ruining livelihoods and it needs to stop. It’s already been 38 days since my channel got terminated and at this point I don’t even care about the withheld revenue, I just want my channel back. I worked hard on it every single day and I just want it back because it brought me a lot of happiness. Of course, I relied on the income the channel gave me as well, but I am at a point where I am so depressed without my channel I just really want it back and the withheld revenue isn’t my priority. I truly just want my channel back so I can go back to doing what makes me happy. I have been in tears almost every night for over a month straight and I haven’t been able to sleep or eat properly because of all the stress and anxiety this has caused me. It would mean the world to me if you like, RT + comment and @ teamyoutube in the replies of this post. i am exhausted, any help would mean the world.

How long until creators figure out having an Open. Video will make their YouTube channel exponentially more valuable to potential buyers (and brand advertisers). Too many just haven't set one up. Couple clicks, and you own your content again.

Except in most cases it's Google Search and creators could have kept 40-50% more money, kept/exported emails of any subscribers, and still been on YouTube for any "YouTube algorithm" views. Every YouTuber should have their own Open Video channel for search results alone.
Kevin Jon@thekevinjon

If a video reaches 100k views, it usually means one thing: The audience did the work. They clicked. They stayed. They kept watching. YouTube simply noticed the signals. And started showing the video to more people. That’s how growth compounds on the platform.

Would you want to let YouTube decide how and what LLMs can do with your content or would you rather have total control? Take control without ditching YouTube, connect your channel to Open Video and jailbreak your YouTube channel

Users have finite attention and $$$ A platform cannibalizes those things at the expense of creators if it attempts to effect those things. Creators should know this process only erodes further, never improves. @open__video lets you own the platform techcrunch.com/2026/02/24/you…

Three copyright strikes in 90 days and your entire channel vanishes. Your audience. Your library. Your income. Gone. You don't own your platform. You're renting it. Own your infrastructure instead. Keep what you build.
