@BrianSkirrow I know rather a lot. I have several properties that I don’t rent out and about 75% of my really quite generous income is from investments

This confirms my belief that people with buy to let investments do so because they are too stupid to invest in anything else. You have a tenanted property and with the way the rental market is going, you will still be able to raise the rent annually. Continuous, steady, increasing income on an asset that will more than likely appreciate long term. And tax free. But no, instead you’re going to sell. During a time of huge financial instability, where the housing market isn’t particularly strong, nor fast. And of course, if everyone is doing it, the market is further saturated. Then you eventually sell. You’ve paid all the associated taxes and fees. And paid off the mortgage. Then what? What are you doing with that money that’s going to make you more money than it already was. You aren’t, because we’ve already established you’re too stupid for other investments. This is proper toys out of the pram stuff.

I own an estate agency in hertfordshire, about 14 percent of our landlords have or are selling due to the negative tax and legislative environment. Assuming thats replicated nationally there will be 1.7million less properties for renters in a year, with no plan on replacement

Genuine question for anyone over 50… If your house dropped 20% in value, your state pension was means-tested, the triple lock was scrapped, and your private pension pot didn’t keep pace with inflation, what’s your plan? Because at least two of those things are coming. Probably three. And nobody is talking about it.

Right now is the best time to be in Dubai. No traffic. Hotels 70% off. Rent down 30%. Empty beaches. Dubai Mall full of locals - zero tourists. Some water parks free for residents. Feels like time slowed down. Like early COVID but without the panic. Dubai is normally one of the fastest cities on earth. Right now someone hit pause. I’m enjoying every second of it. But here’s why it’s empty: The world thinks Dubai is a war zone. 438 ballistic missiles. 2,000+ drones. Headlines did the rest. Trips cancelled. Tourists went elsewhere. What they don’t know - the city never stopped. Not one day. While everyone was watching the news - residents were getting 70% off five-star hotels and empty beach clubs on a Friday. The people who stayed are locking in deals this city hasn’t seen in years. Every crisis creates a window. Most people watch it close from the outside. 🇦🇪 @Rus_Khairullin

@OffshoreSimon @implausibleblog How many times do people need to be told that Thatcher privatised all our utilities etc etc. !!!!!!!! The Norwegian government owns 67% of Equinor, the largest operator producing around 70% of its gas. It owns and controls the pipelines. 90% Electricity is owned by the state.

Ed Miliband, "The price of gas is set on the international market, whether it comes from the north sea, or is imported" "We're price taker and not a price maker" "There is one lesson from this crisis, and only one lesson" "We need homegrown clean power that we can control" "We cannot keep being on this fossil fuel roller coaster" Thank you for the clear explanation @Ed_Miliband - please do this every time the subject is raised and get the message across 👏

Before I was an MP, I worked on the current series of polymer banknotes at the Bank of England. So I know how decisions about our currency are made, and why they matter. Nigel Farage clearly doesn’t. What he conveniently ignores is that central banks regularly issue new banknote series. It’s how they stay ahead of counterfeiters and keep our currency secure. It’s technical. It’s essential. And it’s completely routine. So why is he manufacturing outrage? Because Farage and Reform UK have spent months attacking the Bank of England itself. They’ve demanded the Bank halt quantitative tightening. 💷 They’ve pushed to stop interest being paid on central bank reserves, which would completely destroy monetary policy transmission. ⚠️ And Farage has even suggested replacing the Governor with someone aligned to his agenda. Let’s be clear: Politicians leaning on central banks is how you spook markets and undermine confidence in the economy. Bank of England independence, brought in by the last Labour government, exists for a reason. To keep markets and household finances stable. I back the Bank to keep our currency secure, not to be dragged into political point-scoring. So if Farage spent half as much time understanding how the Bank works as he does attacking it, we’d hear a lot less of this nonsense. ❌

The Bank of England is replacing Winston Churchill with a picture of a beaver on our bank notes. This is the definition of woke.

Some have asked, why the current focus on #BTC? #Bitcoin is the best #crypto asset for clear #liquidity heatmaps The BTC/USDT or BTC perpetual futures markets have the largest liquidity in crypto. Large institutional and whale orders create visible liquidity walls that show clearly on heatmaps. Most heatmap tools are designed around BTC first. When liquidity is lower as is currently I am avoiding #Alts for trading, although I do still hodl a few

@NormanBrennan I agree with you Norman. In his time he's been in prison, he's had his throat cut, been attacked with boiling water and now beaten to death. His crimes were abhorrent - no question, but it's not right that he was murdered behind bars.

Folks I may be amongst the few over Ian Huntley but when someone is sent to prison for whatever crime they commit they should be protected from being murdered or maimed; I may highlight the most serious of crime in Britain but justice must be given by our courts & Not by the hands of other offenders!🤷‍♂️

Today I tabled a bill which would require any UK military intervention to have a lawful basis, viable objective, and approval by MPs - legislation the PM once said he himself would pass when he was running for Labour leader. He supported it then, and he should support it now.

You need to be shitting your pants. You need to be panicking. You need to be urging people to take drastic measures. This could affect up to 5% of the 25-30% of oil that we, a net oil producing country, import. Fill up your tanks. America will collapse by Friday.
