@danohagan I always thought that a sporting director also sets a strategy, a way of playing and recruits based on that philosophy to avoid having a squad that isn't balanced we've been the opposite of that ever since the summer of 2021.

In German football, a sporting director is always held up to public scrutiny, just as much as the head coach. They give weekly press conferences and are very much expected to explain and justify choices and decisions. In England, well, not so much. #NCFC

@ncfcdigital Desire is the key word here, he went in January because he wanted to play. He obviously wants to get on with his career so has taken/looked for the move.
Someone like Duffy won't get the same money elsewhere, so there's no rush to push a move from him.

Disappointing if we're considering something as low as this, think he could really increase in value under JHT, given we have to give Católica 25%, I don't see how we can replace him easily. Makes no sense an #ncfc POV, and from what I hear Núñez is happy where he is.

@AdamBrandon84 I think there's a balance between who wants to go, who we need to move, and who we want to keep but would get value from.
Example is, Nunez, McLean, Rowe and Hanley all sold, but we keep Sara, Gunn and Sargent. Replace with a CDM and youth promotions.
I'd take that right now.

I think we've ended up paying Universidad Catolica around £4m for him so this would mean a 500k loss on a player we've significantly improved and is happy at the club.
Reckon we'd only sell at around £10m. The way he was playing in last 6 months should mean he's not for sale.

@AdamBrandon84 Gibson is out of contract this summer, I can't see him getting a new contract, I can't see the club having a clause to sack Duffy, but it needs to be 1 from him and Hanley to go this summer the other to be the experienced head around a new CB group.

We should look at moving on Hanley, Gibson, Duffy, McLean, and Barnes. It is obviously not realistic for them all to go in the summer, but it is similar to the position we were in when Farke came in - Martin, Naismith, Jerome, Howson, Dorrans, Ruddy all left within a year. #ncfc
