The next phase of space needs new infrastructure. Not just more satellites, but systems that can think and act in orbit. Space AI is building the distributed compute across Earth and space. spaceai.pulse.ly/hy4zsmpqwj

AI is moving onboard spacecraft. Sending data back to Earth doesn’t scale. It adds latency, costs bandwidth, and limits autonomy. Space AI is deploying compute into orbit so systems can process, decide, and act in real time. The Rise of AI in Space from @SpaceBiz1👇 orbitaltoday.pulse.ly/akfc2lx9bh

SpaceAI has announced it will attempt the first-ever cryptocurrency transaction from space during an upcoming launch with @TlonSpace. The mission will see SpaceAI’s NIO computing node integrated directly into the rocket’s onboard systems. During the flight, SpaceAI will execute a blockchain transaction using Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer 2 network, including minting an NFT of artwork by Argentinian artist Eugenio Cuttica. Launch is scheduled for the 11th of April, with the window opening on the 10th of April 🛰️

The infrastructure required to power the next generation of AI is becoming a constraint. Training large models already demands huge amounts of energy and land, and terrestrial data centres are struggling to scale fast enough. A recent @wef article explored how space-based data centres could help address this👇weforum.pulse.ly/t2amf1ohjs

AI data centres in space are gaining momentum, with Elon Musk suggesting space could become “the lowest-cost place to run AI,” powered by constant solar energy. This reflects a bigger challenge: as satellite networks expand and AI systems scale, sending all data back to Earth creates bottlenecks. Space AI addresses this by deploying modular computing nodes in orbit, allowing satellites to process data, run AI, and manage communications directly in space. Orbit shifts from a passive relay into an active computing environment. More from @Reuters 👉 reuters.pulse.ly/kmfc8qsx2d

Space systems still rely heavily on ground infrastructure for processing and decision-making. As satellite networks grow, sending large volumes of data back to Earth creates latency, bandwidth limits, and dependency on ground links. To scale effectively, intelligence must move closer to where data is generated. Space AI solves this by deploying computing nodes in orbit, allowing satellites to process data, run AI, and manage communications directly in space-enabling faster, more efficient, and more autonomous operations. spaceai.pulse.ly/xspdbnnvot

Most space systems still work the same way: Satellites collect data in orbit and send it back to Earth to be processed. As constellations scale, that model becomes a bottleneck - adding latency, bandwidth pressure, and reliance on ground infrastructure. Space AI changes that. We deploy modular computing nodes into orbit so satellites can process data, run AI, and manage communications directly in space. We’re building the infrastructure for the next generation of space systems👇 spaceai.pulse.ly/wynzlbjcaq

Great to connect with @LimeMicro, a long-standing tech partner of SpaceAI, at MWC Barcelona. Lime’s software-defined radio (SDR) technology forms a key part of our NIO stack. Our collaboration with Lime, a leading UK semiconductor company, continues to play an important role in SpaceAI’s growing supply chain as we scale distributed infrastructure. 📸: @PascalBaker, President Europe & UK at SpaceAI, with Ebrahim Bushehri, CEO and Founder of Lime Microsystems. @MWCHub
