Unlike straight law, it can be hard to find a path in to legal #innovation / #legaltech careers. That’s why @inspiredcat and I have established a pilot program to help women enter the profession by connecting them to industry leaders. (1/3)

@BenWhiteCC I suspect it's also the relative comfort of knowing 30 lawyer hours will get the job done, no surprises, vs 10 lawyer hours + X no. of hours to learn/set up tech + Y no. of hours to fix tech if it goes wrong, making it difficult to quantify ROI on first go

Ultimately the scenario above gets changed by competitive pressure. Which gets into the (massive) topic of why that is so slow coming. Opaque markets and pricing, stickiness of law firm name brands, don’t get fired for using the Magic Circle mentality etc etc

I was on a call today where someone from a firm said that clients are more willing to pay for 30 hours of lawyer time than 10 hours of lawyer time plus the cost of a tech tool that reduces the overall cost. /
