@orangejags @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan Show me where women weren’t allowed to train race horses in the last 30-40 years. I’ll wait.

For the first time in 152 years — HISTORY IS MADE!!!

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan i’m genuinely glad you believe women are equal, we need more people like that. but you’re taking a mental shortcut by treating ‘allowed’ as the same as ‘equal opportunity.’ i don’t think this conversation is productive anymore because we’re not acknowledging the same history.
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan do you actually understand how discrimination works? something doesn’t have to be officially banned to be unequal. you can be ‘allowed’ to do something and still not be taken seriously, not be funded, and not be given the same opportunities.
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan are you okay? genuinely where did transgender athletes even come from in this convo? that’s not what we’re talking about at all. i’m literally just saying women didn’t have equal opportunities historically. that’s it.
English

@orangejags @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan I want nothing more for women to be acknowledged for their success. Training a horse has nothing to do with being a woman. You should be fighting for the girl that beat a transgender in a race. But you won’t because you’re brain washed into thinking that makes you a bigot.
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan calling me ‘butthurt’ doesn’t make your point stronger. you keep saying ‘women were around’ like that equals equal opportunity, and it doesn’t. access isn’t the same as being taken seriously, invested in, and given top chances.
English

@orangejags @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan This isn’t true at all. Women have been training race horses forever. You’re just getting butthurt they haven’t won like men have. And it has nothing to do with gender. Just money.
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan opportunity to win. that’s a social barrier, not a biological one. you could say this same thing 150 years ago and most men would’ve laughed and said women weren’t capable. that mindset is exactly why it matters when a woman actually wins. it’s progress, not proof we’re inferior
English

@orangejags @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan Yes they have been. They just haven’t won. And once again being a woman doesn’t make you any different than a man training a horse. If you think other wise than you’re basically just saying men are just so much better at it that’s why it’s important a woman won
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan -women were incapable. look I’m not trying to attack you. my point is women didn’t have equal opportunities. even when it wasn’t officially banned, they weren’t taken seriously or given the same chances. that’s basically being shut out in practice. that’s why it matters now
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan no, my point isn’t that women couldn’t do it before. it’s that they weren’t given the same opportunities to be recognized and win at that level. you even said it yourself, they weren’t recognized. that’s exactly why it matters now. acknowledging progress isn’t the same as saying-
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan no one is denying money and influence exist, it’s an insanely rich sport, obviously. but acting like that cancels out the accomplishment makes no sense. women weren’t given the same opportunities in this space for most of its history, so yeah it does matter when one finally wins.
English

@orangejags @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan Being a man or woman has nothing to do with a horse winning a race. If you think differently than you think men or women are better at it and should be acknowledged for it.
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan you keep changing the argument instead of just acknowledging the point. first it was money, then it was history, now it’s that trainers don’t matter. if it all ‘doesn’t matter’ then there shouldn’t be an issue with people celebrating a woman winning. that’s literally all it is
English

@orangejags @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan And my argument is “trainers” nowadays aren’t even really training the horses. They’re nepo babies given a title. They hardly need training they’re “BRED RACE HORSES” It’s the jockeys that are actually riding the horses learning and navigating them.
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan this literally proves my point. women were doing the work but weren’t officially recognized, had to train under men’s names, and didn’t get the same opportunities. being ‘around’ isn’t the same as having equal access to win at the highest level
English

@orangejags @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan Women have been training race horses for almost 100 years.

English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan this isn’t about a woman beating a man, it’s about women finally being given the same access to even compete. for most of history they weren’t the ones getting the horses, the backing, or the opportunities. that’s why it matters for us women.
English

@orangejags @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan You’ll never convince me “training a race horse” has anything to do with gender at all. It’s just money being given to someone who had access to it and claimed a title.
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan owners fund and choose trainers. for most of history they picked men. so saying it’s just money ignores who was actually given the opportunity to begin with.
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan you keep saying it’s just money and access but who had that access for most of history? mostly men. that’s literally the point. it’s not that women magically just got better, it’s that they’re finally getting the same opportunities
English

@orangejags @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan Maybe just maybe women have more class than men when it comes to horses? Luckily most women have found doing the opposite and that loving the animal and taking care of them is much better and rewarding than seeing them as a $ like men do and running them into the ground
English

@conenor @33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan and this isn’t even just history, women around the world are still fighting for basic rights right now. so yeah seeing a woman win something like this matters. little girls get to see that and think maybe there’s a place for me too, and that’s something a lot of women never got
English

@33MadCat33 @ABRLive @reredevaux @jose93_ortiz @PhippsStableFan You trained Caitlin Clark to dunk over Anthony Edwards? Holy shit I’m impressed. You’re training a horse better than the guy next to you? What the fuck does gender have to do with that?
English

@Stefan_LG @themrlado @hothletes Cause the post is sexualizing random girls (who they don’t the ages of) for no reason
English

@themrlado @hothletes Why? It seems to be a public sports event. Nothing illegal to see here.
English

@SUNNY_CR07 @Chalkdemon84 @PlanetAquino Honestly, I think that’s like the reason why they shouldn’t be shown because women actually have a purpose for theirs.
English

@Chalkdemon84 @PlanetAquino because men's reproductive part doesn't include their breast
